2014 is going to be de year of fighting games. New BlazBlue (west), new Guilty Gear, new Persona, new Street Fighter revision, new Killer Instinct(?), new Soul Calibur (mini but still)…
Yeah, I know, it’s crazy. And if this can get into EVO in 2014, it’ll be so hype.
Still no Jubei…
I don’t get it. We have Hakumen, Platinum, Hazama/Terumi, Ragna (as Bloodedge), and Valkenhayn in game already. Aside from that one dead person, Jubei is the last remaining member of the Six Heroes that isn’t playable. If nothing else, I would at least like DLC sprite overlays to replace Tao with Jubei if we aren’t getting him.
On the other hand, it is extremely rare for any game to only have ONE DLC character, so playable Jubei might be a thing in the future. I have a hard time thinking of anyone else that would really be worth putting in from the story. Arc doesn’t seem like the type of company that would troll by adding Sol or anything.
I’m fairly sure Jubei will be playable. Kokonoe and Jubei are the two characters that fans have been clamoring for, and Kokonoe has already been revealed. Plus, if you look at her screenshots, there is a story branch with her icon and another one with Jubei’s icon.
And plus, isn’t it storyline that Jubei’s not up to his normal fighting strength because Phantom’s poisoning him with her magic or something?
lmao i peeked at the story and this mythical battle was called the dark war? and they fought against the black beast? its a little too easy to make fun of. never have i seen a series with so much anime in it. next thing you know the black beast is being revived right now and Ragna is the only one who could stop it, with a kiss from [insert female character here].
At least the gameplay looks good.
IIRC, he’s fine (outside of being aged), Phantom’s magic only injured him more than normal attacks would since he normally heals from them quickly.
You haven’t seen enough series if you think BB is even in the top 10 of how much anime packaged in. As tropey as it can be at times, it’s still overall solid for the most part. You wanna see something that really has a ton of anime? Go watch one episdoe of RWBY. Not the series up to where it is now, just one episode. Even one of the 5 minute episodes will suffice.
The problem is that “Evil scientist as background manipulator with cool cyborg minions” is TONS more interesting than “evil scientist who shoots you with a freeze ray”. z.z They make the character LESS unique and interesting by making her playable in a game in which the only means of interaction is one on one melee.
Uh, last I heard, that was an arcade-only update. Has that changed?
Why wouldn’t they release it on console? P4A easily outsold BBCSE.
I have no idea, but they stated it quite firmly, and I was wondering if anyone had heard anything to the contrary.
With how vocal and apparently numerous the Persona 4 fans are, I would imagine they’d eventually port it over to consoles. Hell, to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually went and did “Persona 4: The Sequel” at some point either, with how those people are.

By THAT standard you need to count BBCP as a “fighting game that came out in 2012.”
It’s arcade only for now, but it’s all but confirmed to be on consoles. Unless they suddenly hate money.
