Just deal with it and move on. If Makoto can do it I’m sure you can too.
Personally, I’ll main Valkenhayn regardless of how terrible they make him (the one exception being, unless he becomes truly broken; in the bad way). There is a line in the sand, I just drew one. The line was taking away his new wolf normals, which would have utterly crippled him and made him nearly unplayable.
I understand that you do not like how they had went about managing your character. I’m not attempting to refute those claims.
What I’m saying is, why continue to persevere?
There must be some deep-seeded/underlying sense of powerful character loyalty. Otherwise, I am at a loss.
I suddenly thought of our character loyalty as being that we got a girl preggers but we can’t bare to be a deadbeat dad who bails out so we keep staying no matter how bad things get and things get bad often.
Arcsys buff plz.
Well, she’s clearly not that bad, as anyone can see - not even in Extend, so… why are you even asking me this question?
I guess I would ask you - if they made Valk just barely on the playable side of completely broken, don’t you think you’d complain on message boards?
Extend Makoto is not as bad as Extend Tsubaki. She got nerfed more, certainly, but she had a HUUUUUGE lead in CS2.
Anyway, I’m kinda hoping they do a quick patch for balance issues around the console release. If they just unnerf Tsubaki’s normals to somewhere between CS2 and Extend levels (why they thought they needed to be even worse in CP baffles me.). Old 5B back. Old 2C back. Old 5BB back and we’re pretty much square. Not strong, but solid. Of course, I wouldn’t complain if they actually wanted to improve her normals to be closer to certain other characters with similar normal-sets, but those three changes would be massive for her neutral/pressure game.
Probably the worst thing about maining Tsubaki isn’t that they keep making her not very good, but the fact that you never get a sense that they know what they WANT to do with her. They keep nerfing things that make her unique, buffing useless things (Air Install is still super dumb and gimmicky even after people working on for all of Extend and CP). Rushdown character with bad normals? Moves that have no point? (Seriously. What is 5BB for? Using it is practically a punishment for mashing.) I just want to sit down with whoever is responsible for this stuff and ask “why?” Of course, if that’s the worst thing about maining her, it proves that it’s not actually THAT bad.
A slight glimpse of optimism has emerged from Airk’s suffering heart in the form of a possibly sarcastic joke that promotes positive thinking methods which directly relate to his main. I am so proud of you.
My work here is done.
What did they actually do to Tsubaki to make you get like this? She seems absolutely fine in CP. It looks like they even made her stronger than she was in Extend.
Also I think in cP they’ve gone to a great length to differenciate characters now. Why pick up Tsubaki in Extend when you could pick Ragna? Why pick Rachel when you could pick Mu etc? Strengths and weaknesses have been emphasised and I think that’s whats happened to Tsubaki. Her damage looks meh, but her Mixups and pressure remain intact, plus she got a command grab, I’d take that over an unblockable gimmick anyday.
So she’s better than the being the worst character in the game? High praise! I mean seriously. Yes, she looks okay in CP, but you say “even made her stronger than she was in Extend” as if that isn’t the bare minimum for even pretending to be trying to balance the game.
The hilarious thing is that your assessment is almost completely backwards; Her damage is FINE in CP, but her “mixup” has ALWAYS been crap and nothing has happened to change that. She has basically the worst overhead in the game, one of the worst lows in the game (2B has less range and is slower than pretty much any other 2B in the game), and no crossups to speak of (the one gimmicky crossup she had in extend has been removed). People (by which I mean “Ragna players”) always bitch about how “weak” is mixup is. Tsubaki’s mixup is orders of magnitude worse. Additionally, her damage off random hits is bad and many Japanese players are frustrated with how weak her pressure still is. As far as I am concerned, the command grab is a total gimmick (Watch some Japanese players and see how often it comes out after they’ve gotten used to the character. Practically never.) because the reward just isn’t there. Trading in a gimmick with high reward for gimmick with low reward? On the plus side, she actually gets DAMAGE off a normal throw midscreen now (as opposed to Extend, where she gets 1800 chargeless or like…2.1k with charge! WTF?)
So what they did is hand out random nerfs (Sorry guys, your AA was actually good, so we’re reducing the invulnerability and active frames and giving them to Jin. :P) and random buffs without making any effort to address the actual problems with the character (Weak normals, weak pressure that relies on your opponent getting nervous and pushing buttons, lack of good options at neutral.). So it’s not so much “What they did”, though some of that is annoying, but what they didn’t do.
Wait, wait, wait. Ragna players were complaining about his mixup and about things with him? Are they still playing CS2 where he’s B- or something?
Maybe we’re drifting slightly off-topic here, but Rachel and Mu really couldn’t be more different, and both of them are relatively untouched in CP. Valk vs Makoto might be a more apt comparison? I don’t know.
No, they were talking about Extend; I believe the logic line was “Ragna deserves all this damage because his mixup is sooooo predictable.” It made me vaguely ill.
Now Ragna’s PRESSURE isn’t super impressive, because he really doesn’t have much of a way to go beyond a basic blockstring the way a lot of other characters can, but his mixup? His basic overhead is pretty average, but Gauntlet Hades can be VERY hard to predict, he’s got a pretty solid crossup with his j.B, and if he gets 50 meter (which is does pretty easily) he can do all kinds of stupid things with Inferno Divider (IAD Crossup Inferno Divider is mean. -_- ) while being thoroughly safe. He’s obviously not “top tier” mixup ala Valk or Carl or Curse Arakune or something, but it’s FAR from bad, and yet… some people.
I sub Tsubaki b/c I like her story. She’s a really great character with an interesting developmental arc and a bit of tragedy w/r/t the whole unrequited love thing and her original timeline death. Plus she’s one of the more intelligent characters in the game (story mode means a lot to me when choosing a character) and she’s the only woman who dresses with modesty.
Anyone know if her CS color scheme be available as an alt in CP? Possibly as a console download?
Not unless they announce something special for the console; Her current colors are:

and

I still don’t understand why they kept the “zombie” color for everyone, but at least they got rid of the “carved from a block of velveeta” colorscheme.
Arc System Works is starting a character vote submission.
Which character will you vote from Guilty Gear and BlazBlue?
If I could read Japanese, I would vote for Jam and Kokonoe.
The fields at the bottom are in order:
Why you think that is the best character
Nickname (your)
Email
Email again for confirmation
If your character of choice is not displayed there are an Other option at bottom where you can write in your choice.
If voting does not work because of too many voting at the same time there are 2 mirror links at them bottom you can use instead.
Oh okay, thanks Mcgreag.
Yeah…so voting for Kokonoe on that one.
…
Why aren’t the images in my other post showing up now? @_@
New forum system is not very good. -_-
Is this game still not confirmed for Xbox 360?I just recently bought an Xbox 360 (3 days ago) to get more into fighting games.SSF4/Injustice/Marvel,then i found out about BlazBlue. As an anime fan i was instantly hooked by the look of these games and how they seem to play and was quite happy about the fact that the previous games also came out for the 360 (Didn’t bought them now but does Continuum shift extend have a healthy playerbase on the 360?) but now i heard that BBCP will only be available for PS3 so what’s up with that? Will it be PS3 exclusive in Japan because no ones uses the Xbox there or will it be world wide PS3 exclusive?Would make me pretty sad.
I’m pretty sure it’ll come out on 360 over here. The question is whether it comes out for 360 in Japan since the console is pretty much dead over there.
