BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma EXTEND announced!

Carl does get 4K from 5B, though. You can still cancel into 22[D] for Ada positioning. And in the corner, 6[D] causing slide on air hit really does wonders.

Idk. Hakumen is looking like a strong zoning character until he gets those 4 stars. Seems like he chugs meter like nobodies business.

Why do tier lists matter? What makes a character become top or bottom tier?

Lot’s of things.

Damage, Mixup, Mobility, Oki, Meter Gain–

As we are discussing tier lists here are the personal list for some famous players:

R-1 (Noel player who switched to Izayoi in CP)
S:Jin Taokaka Hakumen Valkenhyne
A:Litchi Hazama Relius Azrael
B:Ragna Tager Rachel Carl Mu Bullet
Weaker than B:Others
I: Izayoi

Tetsu (Jin player)
S:Jin Taokaka Hakumen Valkenhyne
A:Litchi Carl Hazama Mu
B (weaker than average):Noel Makoto Platinum Bullet Amane Izayoi
Others (Average):Everyone else

Konan (Tsubaki player, winner of SBO 2011 (against R-1) and GodsGarden 2012)
S:Jin Taokaka Hakumen Litchi
A:Rachel Carl Tsubaki Hazama Valkenhyne Nu Mu Relius Bullet Azrael
B:Ragna Noel Tager Bang Makoto Izayoi
Other (Not enough experience to rank): Amane Arakune Platinum

I’ve seen those lists, and they seem kinda goofy. I mean, what’s up with the “A” “B(Below average)” and “Average” tiers? Is “average tier” like “A-” or something?

About the only thing I can take away from that mess is that Tao is still silly, Hakumen is still silly, and Jin is inexplicably strong. Oh, and no one things Izayoi is good. All of these things are pretty obvious, however.

Oh, and Huggybear? It takes Hakumen like 12 seconds (less if he lands a counter) to reach 4 stars, so uh…yeah. He’s not exactly hurting there.

As I said before, I’m pretty sure that R-1 is that other guy who’s using his tag. It wouldn’t make sense for him to switch to Izayoi when Izayoi is well, a good bit weaker than Noel is, lol.

Not that anyone seems to think Noel is particularly good, so maybe he just wants to change or get that low tier option select.

Yeah, I know, I know. Everyone thinks she’s “just okay”, but I’ll argue “untapped potential” until the end of time unless I start getting CS1 flashbacks when the console version of CP comes out.

That’s fine, but it doesn’t really make a strong case for “Why would he drop her for Izayoi?”; A) It’s not like he was dropping a top-tier character for her and B) If anyone in the game has “untapped potential” it’s most likely to be the new characters, particularly the COMPLICATED new characters. And in this case, that means Izayoi. Sooo…

Maybe so, but you don’t exactly see many people dropping better characters for Bullet (who people kinda view as only having like 3 combos) or Amane.

Bullet is, as far as I am concerned, all but documented as being boring as mud, so one can easily understand why people wouldn’t want to go play her.

Amane, well, truthfully, I haven’t seen enough Amane to even judge him.

What makes Bullet so boring again?

Bullet is weird. I can’t enjoy watching her at all. She looks so ridiculously bland it hurts.

Still standing by my list. Hakumen is still good, but he’s a step down from Extend. His mixup is still lol bad and predictable. TK Tsubaki is easy to see coming. His strong normals and stronger specials still push him up there, though.

Even though Carl lost stuff. Ada still hits low. Instant SSS++++++++ Tier. Right up there with Ivan Ooze.

I’m not exactly a Mu user by any means here and have barely if ever used her, but a couple of Mu players I know (one of which is a mod on the Mu DL board) say she’s kind of braindead in CP. Anybody that would know what they’re talking about care to elaborate?

Bullet looks so fast and brutal though :frowning:
If she’s ragna enjoyable, I can make do with her.

Her track is fucking sick. Top three in the game, I think. If you wanna play Bullet, then I’ll play you all day just to jam out.

<blockquote class=“Quote” rel=“rayplay”>Bullet looks so fast and brutal though :frowning:

She just…doesn’t do anything interesting. I can’t really explain it, but she has no style, nothing that looks cool, and no moves that even seem tactically interesting. She’s like Ragna, except that at least Ragna’s moves have a cool looking ‘effect’ on them, whereas Bullet’s moves just have an orange smudge.

I disagree she looks “brutal” or fast either, really. I mean, yay, she zips around a little bit mid combo, but otherwise she seems completely average. And honestly, for me, CP overall seems less “hard hitting” (not in terms of damage, but in terms of ‘feel’) than earlier BB games due to the new hit sounds and the reduced hitstop (though at least the latter isn’t as bad as P4A, where I feel like it doesn’t even ‘feel’ like a lot of attacks even make contact.).

A better question would be “What does Bullet have that makes her NOT boring?” and the answer, as far as I can tell, is nothing. There isn’t even any decision making involved in her drive as far as I can tell - no one does her followups that consume her Heat Up, they just sit on it for the passive benefits. ZZzzzzz…

Edit: With regard to “brain dead” Mu, I’ve got nothing; Maybe it just means that all her combo paths converge? Because otherwise, she looks WAY less stupid than she is in Extend.

Hakumen doesn’t even need good mixup anymore. He has like, infinite “I can just poke you with Agito until you’re dumb enough to push a button because this move is LOLunpunishable.” nonsense. His neutral game is hilariously strong, and the longer you play it with him, the more it tilts in his favor as he gets more stars. The only characters that have remotely fair matchups against him are the ones that don’t have to play ‘standard’ neutral. (Tao/Hazama/Rachel, maybe Nu and Valk.) Oh, and Litchi because her neutral is insane as well.

I think the reason people call Bullet boring is because it seems she lacks creativity in playstyle. I’ve watched tons of her replays, but I can’t see much ‘personality’ when different people play her. Everyone plays exactly the same.
But if I look at Makoto replays, I can tell by playstyle alone if it’s Goro/Matsu/Kuroku playing. Same goes for Ragna/Hazama.

But boring is still something subjective. Boring characters to me are: Izayoi, Rachel, Jin, Taokaka. I literally start feeling drowsy when I watch their replays (seriously, I’m not joking).
I can still enjoy watching Bullet’s replays and I feel like she’s alot more fun to play than watch.

Boy, do you just get bored by tricky characters or something? o.O
