BlazBlue 3 anyone?

It’s been a year since BlazBlue Continuum Shift was released on consoles (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3) and it’s been 2 months since the update Continuum Shift II has been released on consoles as downloadable updates and it’s also released on handhelds (PSP and 3DS). I’m really hoping that Arc System Works will announce a new BlazBlue game and it’s going to be a sequel to Continuum Shift or CS2. I was disappointed that Continuum Shift’s story ended up on a cliffhanger again. I want to know what’s going to happen on the next BlazBlue’s story really bad. Continuum Shift II made some balancing changes and it introduces 3 more playable characters (Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platinum). It’s an okay update and I think it’s now a complete game. I hope they won’t make another update to Continuum Shift again. They should start working on a new BlazBlue game right now. So what do you guys think?

CS2+ Is coming out for the Vita.

I for one, Am fucking sick of constant DLC and Updates. I want a new game. This game is NOT outdated, But seriously, How many updates?!

I much rather have updates then be asked to buy a new game. PC games and shooters have dlc and updates sometimes 2 years or ever later. Save me money. But they should eventually release a complete edition with all the updates on the disk still compatible with the old disk and dlc online. Personal i not really care for cs2+ on vita because i do not spend money on portable consoles.

Honestly, I have no problem with updates either. I mean, c’mon. The differences between Super Fun Fighter 2, Super Fun Fighter 2: Extra, Super Fun Fighter 2: Extra Special, Super Fun Fighter 2: Extra Special Bonus Edition and Super Fun Fighter 2: Double Plus Good, The New Generation, are generally the sort of thing that should be updates, not the sort of thing that should require a $40 purchase.

That said, I also think it would be to the advantage of these companies to sell an “on disc bundle” for people who are just getting started.

This exactly. I’d rather get updates than keep shelling out money for newer versions or pointless add ons.

I don’t mind, as long as its like the CSII update, give me the rebalancing for free and let me download the characters as I please.

I dont mind the updates myself. As long as the game is still playable and what not. I’m fine with out a new game for awhile.

I predict that an entirely new Blazblue game will come out maybe next summer, making it a 2 year gap between releases. Until then, we’ll get the CSII+ patch/update for consoles either at the end of this year or early next year, maybe with one more DLC character if we’re lucky (although I can’t see where they would go on the character select screen). I honestly don’t mind the way Aksys does things, we got a FREE patch that we download, and the new characters were optional if you wanted to purchase them or not, it won’t make the game unplayable if you don’t have them. I’d much prefer this method over retail disc releases every year. When they released BBCS, it was a major overhaul over BBCT.

Of course, saying this on SRK is like an uphill argument for me lol.

how about everyone besides japan actually learn how to play CS2 on a high level 1st? I don’t know how good EU is, but if Tokido (who doesn’t play CS2) can come to evo and body everyone while playing the same as our top players, that’s saying something about stepping our game up.

Though BB has a relatively good story, I’ll stick with RPGs if I want to play games for stories. Bottom line, there is still thousands and thousands of unexplored hours to better yourself in CS2 that I don’t feel a need to want a new game now.

I have a feeling the next upgrade (post CS2+ anyway) will be a sequel. CS wasn’t really even a direct sequel to CT, it was more of an upgrade really, so I think we’ll probably be getting a sequel in the next year or so.

Honestly how I see it is they may release two more, or atleast one more character before they just do a whole new game. Since there’s room for atleast two more characters. And it seems to me every half year they do that. But that’s just how I see it.

I know that Continuum Shift’s presentation is too similar to Calamity Trigger and all, but didn’t you even play through the Story Mode on Continuum Shift? If you think CS2+ will be a sequel, how come the title is still called, “Continuum Shift”? No offense but CS2+ is still another update for Continuum Shift.

Couldn’t tell if it was just because I had it on the PS3 or the game itself took a very very long time to get into online matches. Kinda like KOF and AH, it’s more of an arcade game then a full game. Basically 2D < Looking 3D < Being 3D. It would require a miracle for some people to want to preorder it compared to what else is coming out the end of this year.

he said post CS2+ , not CS2+ itself, I think by the name its pretty obvious that CS2+ is gonna be just an upgrade of CS2

and I’m totally fine with it, I dun wanna spend for a sequel every year, you dont even get the time to learn the game correctly, when you put Story Mode aside

be just a little more patient if you’re focused that much on the Story part of the game.

Blazblue story is really interesting but it’s still a fighting game , so it’s normal that Aksys focuses much more on updating and upgrading rather than finishing up the story.

The game is probably at its most competitive and balanced its ever been. Now you want a new game to turn everything upside down again, just because of the story? Why not just watch an anime or read a book? BBs story is great for a FG but really, only some sort of entitled OCD completist (or a younger person, I guess) would be this passionate about seeing the rest of the story. Go and enjoy other better stories that are already finished.

Having said that, I hope they finish up with the updates and dlc soon (after the next wave of characters, perhaps), and get the game in a really good state, and then release a nice complete, “really final this time, promise!!” disc for the big consoles and arcade. I’ve been holding off on buying dlc characters in the hopes of everything coming on a disc one day.

Then give us a good 2 or 3 years to enjoy “CS2 Final Tuned”, and spend the time making BB3 something incredible.

It’s inconvenient and annoying to deal with dlc and updates when you often take the game to friends houses to play. I want it all on a disc.

I want BB3 to be released in the early years of ps4 and xbox 720 because with my changing tastes in games i might buy a new console until there is a good FG or something. I am moving away from FPS so that only leave FGs for multiplayer games. Beside that i been only interested in single player games and you can wait for those to go into the bargain bin a couple years later or if they have a system similar to steam on the consoles get them when they have special sales that cut the price in half.

I hope Continuum Shift Extend is the definitive Continuum Shift revision. That game/update has enough features and contents.

I’d like one last balance touchup; There’s no reason they can’t give Ragna and Hakumen a downward bump, an upwards nudge for Tsubaki and Makoto, and…not mess with everyone else. They really need to figure out, sooner or later, that they don’t have to put the entire cast in a blender on “puree” for a balance patch.

Hey, he might be a little crazy about it but I want a new story too. Hell, one of the main reasons I play Blazblue is because I love the characters and story, as well as the art and soundtrack (also the community isn’t nearly as annoying.)

But yeah, as long as they don’t do it too often, revisions always keep the game nice and fresh, instead of becoming too stale too fast. Just try not to butcher or… reverse-butcher all of the characters like they did in CS1…
