I just saw blankas 3rd alt costume and im so disapointed, blanka went from a cool ass jungle beast with sharp teeth and who would bite your face, to a femin *** wearing dans pink gi. like he woke up after bedding him and put it on. come on man so gay, he even has a pony tail for gods sake,how about this for a request change his retarded new costume please…

Even if EX Up Ball knocked down, and even if they couldn’t quick rise afterward, the recovery is too long for you to safe jump on anyone with a 3F DP.

Blanka’s new one is probably the worst of the whole lot. It once again has no range and no way to link into it. I’m glad this is only the beta and I hope that Blanka gets MAJOR overhauls to his character.

I didnt notice because I don’t piano, I slide my finger across for elec. See, for whatever reason my pinky and ring finger decide that they have to move together, so piano-ing buttons like that isnt an option. I just don’t have the manual dexterity.
But I really do hope that its only 3-4 inputs for electricity, because then I could piano most likely.

If you think Blanka’s Ultra is good and you don’t understand why EX Up Ball (and maybe even EX hori ball) need to be safe on hit then you obviously don’t play Blanka.

Initial thoughts without watching the stream. I didn’t know that. From what I saw on youtube, Blanka was in the middle of the screen unleashing a lightning bolt of hell on his opponent.

There are 2 stages to the ultra, 2 ground pounds, the first one surrounds maybe 2-3 character lengths and the seconds then goes full screen. I dont have access to youtube from work so i can’t check but it seems the startup on both hits is not fast enough to punish things easily on reaction. The reason i say this is becausei rmember seeing guy walk a step before getting hit by the first pound and the seconds comes out some time after that. I DONT see this punishing full screen fireballs at all. And it does AWFUL damage.
The opponent gets bg pushback on elec on block? blanka got nerfed because mid level players can’t handle him and cried in thousands on forums and youtube around the world. Its amazng you have dedicated posters on srk like the guy with vega in his avatar above you literally dont know SHIT about the game over a year after its release. In his current build he’s shit (gets boned at tournament play by lots of the cast). Oh and his walk speed is not increased, its just the overall game speed has been increased. This is probably the same for his Cr.HP.
Excuse my slowpokeness, but what’s the main difference between the 2 versions of his Ultra? Couldn’t they just merge them into one single Ultra that starts with the vertical thunder strike then the ground thunderstrike or such?
Nobody’s played the game enough to know the intricacies man. Presumably there’s two versions to remove Option Selects. Having to choose which one to use allows them to make each version better at it’s role.
You do make some good points… The problem is you don’t fight Blanka’s that often; so when you fight a Blanka player that knows what they are doing they destroy you. This leaves the average player thinking Blanka is better than he actually is.
That being said, he isn’t shit. Calling Blanka shit is a ridiculous statement. Don’t oversell your message, it makes your opinion less credible.
No. Blanka is shit. I’ve been maining him since the games release and he has quite a bit of faults. I know it’s hard for someone people to see them, but when you start playing GOOD opponents you clearly see just how far behind Blanka really is.
Sure, Blanka may intimidate your average player that doesn’t take the time to figure out just how EASY it is to punish Blanka. But, I assure you, it’s very easy depending on who you pick. Most Blankas rely on trickery to win. Guess what? Once those tricks are discovered you’re left with a very mediocre character with not that good of a ground game and very little zoning options.
The same can be said of any character in the game.
You don’t think that Blanka is as bad as Blanka players say he is? Here’s a list of flaws off the top of my head:
Number 1 offensive move unsafe on hit against many chars
Only reliable reversal unsafe on hit against many chars
FADC mixups unsafe because of slow forward dash
No easy mode blockstrings -> no wakeup game outside cross-up/under shenanigans (which is beaten by c.lp most of the time)
No combos = no damage = no comeback potential (he can’t even create offense)
No way to Ultra outside of 1f link, corner jb.hk, punishment, or 50/50 (which itself is punishable with Ultra)
Worse than average super move (meter gets spent elsewhere anyway)
The idea that making his balls safer on hit and giving him a better Ultra would make him OP is laughable.
