Regarding the safeball setup vs Akuma video, it won’t work if Akuma does reversal DP as it isn’t a safe jump right?
Also, it seems you did cr.mk twice after the jump in hk, is that necessary for it to work? (sorry cannot test it myself right now).
it isn’t a safejump(vs akuma at least), the setup isn’t required, it’s just to show the spacing for the most part and that it is possible to safeball akuma’s ultra. The idea was that the setup works off of any jumpin that is equally deep as that setup.
And yes 2 mk’s is required. Basically you would block confirm into a second mk, then cancel that to ball.
Got it. Since blanka spins around its own axis during the ball trajectory, its hit box spins as well. So the key aspect in these cases, is the angle in which the ball makes contact against the other character (hence the spacing as you pointed out).
So the bounce back distance is different if you hit the opponent with the corner of the hit box than if you hit him with a flat side of the hit box. Hopefully this makes sense?

I guess I didn’t know the matchup as well as I thought I did. I’m really comfortable against non charge characters and I haven’t played a Vega that turtled like that.
yeah it’s old news, but I’ve been finding out new characters the concept works on for awhile.

Some nice combos all round. Dodgy ex-balling Akuma towards the end there, but he was a bit slow anyway. Nice matches.
your post crumple cr.short, st.jab xx elec does less damage than st.mp, st.lp xx elec, cr.mk, st.lp xx elec and even st.lk xx elec.
If you are going to do a combo you can drop post stun, do one that does more damage.

yeah, that’s just me keeping it safe, even tho i still dropped it once on mashdat. i usually use st.mp jab xx elec but it doesn’t hit on everyone. i had figured out who it works on awhile ago but i forgot some of them so i just end up doing low short when im not sure. although i could just use ex elec… i guess i’m just being lazy haha
the st.lk cancel is even safer, works on everyone, and does an extra point. Pretty hard to drop! I think st.jab xx elec only does like 6 less damage too.

the random rainbow roll made me laugh. I’m gonna xcopy some stuff though. I think whats lost in the OMG T SRAI IS SO TRICKY/SO GOOD AT COMBOS thing is that his setups off of knockdowns are actually really good when he’s not just going crazy. He’s actually getting smarter over time.
