Hey everyone, I’m a Honda mainer here, but have been recently picking up a little blanka, finally got around to recording some of my blanka gameplay, and would like to have some criticism on it

Just some casual games against my friend whom I taught Honda to him. He is a viper main, but his secondaries are Honda and Makoto.
Also, please take into consideration, that I myself, do not have a console to play on, I have not had a console since 2007, before SF4 came out, and I mostly learn how to play through watching videos, reading on match ups, and going to casual sessions and tournaments. I have been thinking about making Blanka one of my secondary characters, as of right now my characters are Honda, Dictator, and maybe Blanka.
Some of the stuff that I seem to have trouble with blanka is doing the jab xx electricity pressure… as I play Honda, I piano my inputs for lp xx HHS, using the same method for Blanka (lp,hp,mp,lp,hp). I dont have any trouble doing the first one, but the second st.jab xx electricity is what gives me trouble… the timing feels very different from HHS. You can see in the second video that I try to do it, and it doesnt work out too well… I resort to trying to slide the inputs… which I am horrible at sliding, lol.
But anyways, I would like your thoughts and comments
Honda has more frames to do jab xx special than Blanka does. his jab has an extra frame of startup and 2 more active frames.
Ahhh I see, makes sense, I guess I gotta try to piano faster… well other than that… any thoughts on what I should work on with Blanka?
just watching now, I think the first thing I noticed is that when you throw honda, you’ve either gone for the same crossup mixup or you just do ball -> meaty elec.
I think you need to mixup between safejumps/safe meaties(elec is not one)/true mixups to get get Honda to reliably take damage in that matchup. knockdowns are pretty much your only chance to reliably initiate offense, and sometimes you just get your stuff blocked and then back away.
Hop ultra is a tool best used sparingly, if you throw it out too much people will just adjust and then it doesn’t work anymore, and your overall hop game suffers as people catch onto it. Also by blowing your ultra you lose the ability to use it in guaranteed situations.
Uhh, I don’t think I saw you anti air with a normal once either. You’d either block or would elec because you had buffer(which means honda wasn’t supposed to jump). Pretty much every character can beat anti air elec with the correct spacing.

i think the blanka was pretty good, if you want safe oiffense blanka hasn’t really got anything scary st.lp & neutral jump vs random rekka footsies. never going to be easy.
yeah the blanka was really solid imo. vs a hard matchup in fei and vs the best fei in the world (probably) . good stuff.

I’m really confused watching your inputs. Are you just mashing the hell out of lp or are you using turbo?

That might have been playing choco blanka playing on momochi’s account. They’re involved, if I’m not mistaken.
[EDIT] On second thought I don’t think so. Choco’s Blanka is stronger than that.
