I’ve found that anti air hori ball only really works against misplaced jumpins or divekick pressure. I tend to get beat when I do non EX upballs most of the time, or at least trade, so I tend to not even do them minus in a few matchups.

Blanka is not scrubby, he’s just easy to use at a low level. Tournament level blanka is hard to use, a lot harder than most characters in my opinion. Gimmick blanka just shreds scrubs. I main guile and i have been putting a lot of time into blanka the past few weeks and it’s not easy! He pretty much can’t use balls in many situations, it’s pretty frustrating.

I’m not surprised Blanka is so hated. That ball move where he hits you from above is really pisstaking. Its hard to tell if it will hit normally, or be a crossup. The lag really isn’t helpful against that move.

It’s been said a million times already, but focus attack the rainbow ball for a guaranteed combo (Unless it’s a reversal) If he does EX Rainbow Ball to escape the corner, you can stuff him before he can get out. If the lag is so bad that you can’t then the match itself is fucked anyway.
lol not surprised ppl have a topic like this for Blanka. He is an easy win character for the most part. Now I know against players that know what there doing he’s tough to win with but lets be honest. We’re playing online so that’s little and inbetween.
His tactics are mostly ball(not many characters can punish this without reacting to it),slide(under projectiles) and electric for easy Anti air and makes it tough for characters to touch you upclose(without knowing what move said character has punishes it) throw in some random cross ups and you got yourself a fairly effortless win and an angry/annoyed opponent lol.
but forget what people will write you and forget the hate. If you enjoy playing the character play him. Its a game and the point is to have fun,get better and win! even if that’s annoying half the players online lol.

I think the big majority of Blanka hate is due to his funky hitboxes which can stop combos dead in their tracks. I think what noobs fail to realize is Blanka can be punished fairly efficiently and they need to play the matchup different than most other matchups. You wouldn’t play against Zangief like he was Ryu. The same should be said for Blanka.
