Wasn’t going to give the show a shot because of its seemingly sacrilegious nature. But I gave it a shot and its actually good.
Hell, it is probably the most moral show I’ve seen on a non religious network that is still entertaining.

The episodes have been pretty good. Not blackout funny, but quite entertaining. In this epCharlie Murphy’s bigass grin and antics while high on dat sauce was funny. Also when he was acting like Boonie was his son.
Episode 4 was so true to life. Boonie keeps banging a crazy bitch and she wants to put him in jail to pay child support. Lol at Fish being stopped from doing anything due to parole violatipn kryptonite.
BTW anyone saw in episode 5, the old photo of Miss Tudi in the background when she was eating the green tomatoes for the first time? She was quite the looker back then.
Yea Episode 6 is definitely the best episode, the part with Vic and the gang after the date was hilarious. This ep didn’t even have John Witherspoon either.
I thought Episode 5 was pretty funny too, it just seem like Ep 2 and 3 were a little weaker.
Fish getting mad never gets old . “Nigga I don’t wanna pray!”
Boonie had me dying with his visual and verbal character progression after Vic’s date and with that Barry Bonds lookin’ politician
“He had the website and everything: cutratebitches.com! Git yo mahfuckin pussy ass up outta here!”
Also Vic’s memberships Buddhist Booty + Muslim Matchmakers
I kinda wish that website was a ghost link to an official Black Jesus website like when madeupmonkeyshit.com (uttered by Uncle Ruckus from Catcher Freeman ep) redirected to the Sony Pictures Boondocks site
I gave the show a shot the other night. Couldn’t stop watching. While I didn’t find it laugh out loud funny, I thought it highly entertaining.
Also, never realized John Witherspoon was Granddad in the flesh. Charlie Murphy is also doing a great job, love his character Vic. The sauce episode was the best one yet.
“Don’t nobody give a fuck about Coolio”
Profounding, that Charlie Murphy, as one might say the same about his richer but depressingly incognito brother, but I wouldn’t say it in his presence…
2 episodes left this season, I’m definitely copping the uncensored DVD. Wouldn’t be surprised if McGruder left John Witherspoon uncensored ala Grandad as he got shot at while pissing lol
The best quote all season is still, “Im a stoner…I GET HIGH AS FUCK!”-Ms. Tootie
“I swear to Pops” destroys all other quotes, 2nd place is almost everything Vic says.
Season finale is actually tonight piiiiiimmmp
The quote about not being their for his girl when she had kids, but he was gonna make sure he was there for his bitch when it had it’s pups
@Autocrat1 fuck you piiimp. Ms Tootie’s vocal inflection was legendary.
Love this show
I was dying at schizophrenic Jesus talking to himself holy shit. Forgot about STANDING MY GROUND guy from the trailer hahaha
I need Season 2 now!
I liked how it wrapped up. I like how Vic had pretty much made a deal with the devil, having to give his shit up to Witherspoon lol! I still don’t find the show laugh out loud funny but I do find it entertaining. I especially like Vic, I just love how he talks and says stuff and his mannerisms. But that’s Charlie Murphy. Anytime Charlie and Witherspoon are together is great.
This show was too hit or miss. I like my entertainment consistent. Now we have something superior coming back:
Personally, I love it, not drop out of your chair laughing funny all the time, but it had the most positive message I’ve personally seen on tv in a while and I found that part of it refreshing. Hoping we get a season 2 soon, best live action half hour on Adult Swim since Childrens’ Hospital/NTSF:SD:SUV::.
Exactly, it was a low key comedy show that was just supposed to make you feel good. Also one of the most positive portrayals of Jesus I’ve seen. The show’s comedy was never end over end laugh out loud funny but it didn’t need to be.
Just watched all the episodes, and I agre with the sentiments here about the level of comedy. Murphy and Witherspoon were gold with the classic lines and delivery. Maggie was PIFF as fuck. Also it was good to see King Bach on there.
I like the pseudo-family sitcom vibe it gives off, and I think it does a decent job of balancing comedy with a positive message.
The new “Mike Tyson Mysteries” is out and about, kinda entertaining but very short.
The bird sex song was funny, but the rest of the ep was whatever.
Glad to see Black Dynamite got a season 2, but season 1 I didn’t enjoy all that much since they used a lot of jokes from the movie, yet the jokes they made for the show were actually funny. Hopefully season 2 abandons this trait, and starts with fresh material.
