It’s funny…not hilarious, just a laugh here and there…but I can’t see this lasting very long. Maybe 2-3 eps before they pull it. There’s too much in there to piss off religious people. I could see if this was focused on somebody else with maybe a couple scenes or mentions per ep of kid black Jesus (like a bunch of parents at a pts meeting pissed cuz their kids were playing in the sprinklers…then that Jesus kid accidentally turned to water to wine and everybody got drunk)…but directly lampooning the figurehead himself? And making him a black stereotype? That’s just asking for termination. It’s not blasphemous, but it’s somewhat in poor taste.

WOW, that is the funniest shit ive seen in a very very long time. I was fucking dying, and i seriously had no expectation of this show, because im like, how, what, how, and aaron did it again. OMG im fiending for this show. I think i will watch the episode again, back to back.

Black Jesus is funny in 5 minutes blocks like it was on Youtube skits, I can’t imagine this being funny for an entire season.

Anybody who has read a bible in their life would know that the disciples of Jesus were of questionable character before he took them in. That’s more or less the premise of the show in a modernized world. But it seems that Christians are quick to get offended just because it’s something to do.
I finally got around to this. I hope it lasts through the season. It’s silly on the surface, but definitely has a layer of intelligence. The only flaw that I saw with this episode is that it’s basically the Black Jesus webisodes from '08 compressed into a single episode. There is a compilation on Youtube and some of the jokes are literally recycled verbatim. I loved it back then and still works for me. I hope Cartoon Network doesn’t kill it off because of the hate. First ep was solid, but I want some more new material. I am sure that it won’t disappoint.
If this show is in poor taste, I want the media to kill off very housewife and hip hop reality show. At least there are lessons learned here. I took this show as a treatment of “Jesus is my homeboy”.

Caught up to this week’s episode 6…by far the best. Felt like a Boondocks episode from beginning to end. Everyone poisoning their oppressors with the special meals lol
