some of my matches from NEC X that were on the stream. Both were against boxers. I played the second boxer very safe, cause I was in losers and didnt want to go home. Plus the couple times I did try to rush I got hit with cr jab or headbutt and didnt want to risk going home.

After that last match I faced off against 2 more boxers and a ryu before I was finally sent home by a Sagat.
I just saw the 2nd match and here’s some comment on it (take it with a pinch of salt): -
- A lot of headstomp done in the match. A more awared opponent will backdash and punish.
- Boxer doesn’t do cr.hp against some of your jump ins. (There’s actually a sweet spot where Bison can jump in with hp, while Boxer’s cr.hp will whiff as anti-air. But I think you know this cause I saw once or twice of this instance.)
- Using scissor kick to close the distance…must be very careful here. Some guys know the distance and will FA it to punish.
- You can meaty attack Boxer all day long if he doesn’t have EX.
Yeah I did lots of headstomp here because he would always try to jump out of block strings in casuals. The headstomp kept him grounded and allowed me to reset the distance.
I jumped in him many times because I noticed he didnt know when to anti air me with cr. fierce.
I avoided meaties cause I felt I could scrape out the win without taking the risk. The sk thing is true, but he never focused it once so I kept doing it hoping he would try to dash punch on landing allowing me to get a throw.

on another level, but you were able to follow him up there and beat him. good shit, good shit. liked your use of pokes, not overzealous and a solid way of just keeping things on an even keel. I don’t know if it was an active strategy but you zoned really well with cr. forward. don’t know if that was your intention but it seemed like that was the effect it was having in the match. I only wish I could play more SRK Bisons but the lag is just so f-ing terrible. All the korean players here are so damn nice but all I can understand is ‘good game’, everything else including advice just gets lost in translation so there’s no feedback going on and I’m just left to wonder.
PS Nice ultra on my neutral jump a few nights ago btw, that had me rofl.
CH set up thread sounds like a great idea… it will need more knowledgable contributors than myself though

If that makes sense.Just play decent footsies not get cocky and give up that home run combo.Kind of slowly take him to the corner if possible while keeping him a little uncomfortable. I didn’t even want to risk eating a fireball so I blocked all of them lol.It ended up 6-3 I think in the end but it was a really good learning experience.
good matches Guru…you played top notch there. I played EMP Santhrax a few weeks ago and beat him when he was using Seth. It was a random encounter on CM. Got me hype though.
One thing I’ll say is get those BNB’s in…but I know playing against a top caliber player like Sanford it’s really hard to get anything in, so you just gotta take what you can. Great playing though

-too many predictable EX psycho crushers on wakeup, boxer should have just baited and jump back fierce more, but EXCELLENT use of psycho crusher in general, you used that shit like CE or some shit as anti-air. since vanilla crusher sucks it worked maybe 60 percent of the time you used it, but thats still in your favor.
-nice punishes, even if when you didnt have charge you got that poke in there on the whiffed headbutts
-you were really on point the first round with psycho crushering all of boxer’s rush punches on reaction, like deadly reaction time but i didnt see that after the first few rounds and you just let him rush in on you like that. maybe you were nervous but you could have psycho crushered because that shit can be seen from a mile away.
-i like the pace of the matches, a good pace for this matchup
-great use of rh as anti-air! that shits hard to use on boxer but props for staying grounded and excellent reaction time for hell attack at the peak of boxer’s jump.
-lastly, i’m finding jumping jab to be a pretty damn good air-to-air against boxer. Fierce startup is slow compared to a weak normal and bison’s hitbox is at such a range where its hard to hit, so im using this more and more on reaction going air-to-air with boxer.

crossup cr.lks aint good for balrog, you’ll usually whiff the last cr.lk because of his stupid hitbox. best crossup combo is cr.lp, s.lk, cr.mk xx scissors.
and yeah I’m starting to use jumping jab and jumping short for air-to-airs since bison kind of stinks air to air against a lot of the cast. jab and short come out so fast although the damage is worthless you might beat a lot of air to air moves on startup. at least i think this is why a lot of folks use light attacks air to air.
Depends on the crossup you use and how far behind you hit him, after a j.HK crossup you can use c.LP, s.LK, c.MK xx Scissors, but after a j.MK the c.MK often whiffs. Therefore always use c.LP, s.LK, s.LK xx LK Scissors against Boxer after a crossup j.MK.
yup i suggested this a while back along with other guaranteed combos on successful crossup, but i dont whiff c.mk when i use s.lk instead of s.lp which makes cr.mk whiff often. i guess my spacing has gotten better, but yeah the above combo works too, whatever floats your boat.
