Bison Video Thread - Purple Fist of Death (ver. 2.1)

Damn, that Bison is for real.

Footsies aside, dude seemed to have Hell Attack on lock (note: I know footsies and Hell Attack are by no means mutually exclusive). Honestly, I pretty much never ever EVER use that shit – I’ve more or less developed my Bison as if that move didnt exist. Clearly, though, it’s a really valuable tool.

Anyone have any tips on how to work that into my game? Is it good against specific characters/attacks, and not good against others? or…?

found my other match from MWC http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6774724 about 26mins in…I was putting myself in the corner wayyy too much!

Andre putting in work and lol at the round house count.

My buddy uploaded some of the top ranked Bison replays

I’m not around my 360 but isn’t Nikusoba the top ranked Bison on Live? Cause he got his shit absolutely jacked.

Either way, proof positive that your BP doesn’t mean shit.

BP never ment jack… I don’t think theres any need to point it out.

HARITSUKA AN Bison is pretty solid. He had a good showing against mago and kuma.

EMB Love is a great korean dictator player. nice to see his adon.

Player1999, vagrancy and Nikusoba are all ranked top 10 for BP, and yeah you can see how it can’t be used to base skill. Headpress and Haritsuka are much better players and have 4-5k less BP than the rest of those guys.

El Fuerte isn’t a free match up. It’s 5-5, definitely not 6-4. From personal experience offline and online. lol

And all this argument about BP and stuff gotta rest. Nobody cares. Good players aren’t going to rape every single character they touch either. Everybody loses man. If you look closely at the old SF4 arcade matches loading screens, it tells you their win% right under the BP/PP I think or total matches won and total lost. So it’s some crazy shit like 5232 win 4298 losses on some people. These guys aren’t immortal, mad shit can random you out in a match. And these people play a lot of ranked matches. Characters are blind pick but Ultras aren’t. The game is still very new, a lot of matches are still up in the air because the new Ultras have changed certain aspects of absolute playstyle, guessing games, and just overall approach to them after the revenge bar lights up.

**Just because you saw two bad matches of a player with 20k BP doesn’t invalidate his high BP number compared to yours. Get over it. It’s beaten to death. **

What makes BP in Japan different from console/online BP? Well, the sample of players winning and losing is a big factor. In a live arcade you can rage quit IRL but you wouldn’t be doing it a whole lot I bet. And plus they are throwing money into the machines so the incentive to do so is a lot less. Over here you already bought the game, people only care about an online stat. There’s no incentive to stay in a downhill battle against someone better than you, so they can pull the plug or just kick you off in the next game. In the arcade, if someone drops a coin in the opposite machine, you better get ready to duke it on out on the machine.

People say the average Japanese scrub is better than the average American scrub but that doesn’t mean the BP is more valuable. It’s just a system to measure time spent. It can be a measure of skill to some extent, but that depends on the sample of players you beat. Is the 50BP you got off a 1000PP less valuable than the 45BP you got off a 15,000PP player or vice versa? Like someone said, it’s like trying to get achievements on the Xbox or Trophies on the PS3. Both are pointless things.

Enjoyed watching those, as well as the commentators good commentators always make it a lot more enjoyable watching high level matches.

Trophies aren’t useless, why all the hate D:

ok so what is the total? underneath your pp and bp there is total and a number usually from 500-2000… what does it mean?

I haven’t ever seen a total number, only BP and PP, but im on PSN so it might show different things for XBOX ppl

I believe HARITSUKA AN is TUC.

I was just talking about this from the arcade. http://i48.tinypic.com/1z1fhmo.png

Those statistics aren’t public on SSF4 console, you have to access the data from the Player Data mode.

Trying to pick up Bison can I get some feedback please?

Thanks. And he is the only Charge character I use so I am a little off with charging sometimes. And I need to practice LKx3 to scissor kick X-D

Really? what makes you think that, was it the alt 1 and brown color that gave him away?:stuck_out_tongue:

seriously I wanna see some Neurosis.

c.lk x 3, sk is good, learn his other bnb which is c.lp, cl.lp, c.mk, sk.
Vary your okizeme pressure. c.lk is good, but other options do exist. j.mk is one of the best crossup in the game, hp PC can be used as a crossup…
s.mk is an amazing poke, use it !
j.mp as air to air. c.hk as out of range punish.
If you get a crumple, try c.mp, c.mk, hk SK. Most Bisons throw though, your choice here.

That’s not TUC. That Hari guy has been on reg SF4 console too and he plays the old cast a lot worse.

^we where joking, or at least I was.^^;

Yeah cheers, I used to do that combo after a crumple, but I prefer the positioning and pressure you get from throwing them. And there’s no room for messing up. I do most of the other stuff you said, I just need to use his mk and PC cross up a bit more. And I’ve got his cr.lk semi consistent now =]
