I’m always on SF4, but i’ve been messing around with Balrog lately.
I have sporadically played recently and have found that I can’t get a damn match. So I make the switch over to Left 4 Dead 2 out of frustration.
If you use a router, you have to make a few settings for a good online experience in general with XBL and PSN.
I live in South Korea but connections within Korea are always full green bar even across the country so I have no problem playing online. Seems like there’s a lack of douchebaggery in the gaming community, everyone I fight online is respectful, even the Giefs and Sagats always send me thank you messages in Korean win or lose.
This is why I still play online (rarely go up to Seoul when I can get full green bars without paying 60-100 bucks to get there and back) but I don’t play for hours on end anymore and I find it a bit harder to hype myself up. This is mostly because I know Bison pretty damn well now and on top of that I can’t really play any ‘casual’ matches. Everyone here I play online is BEASTLY so I can’t really just have fun, it’s always blood sweating so sometimes I don’t play even if I want to just to avoid the stress. I already get that from work. on top of that I’m probably in a different time zone than most of you so when you’re on I’m asleep and vice versa.
I tried getting into other evil characters to expand my enjoyment of the game but no one is as fun as Bison. Sagat is too goddamn slow it feels like I’m a huge jar of bald bandaged molasses. It bores the hell out of me even though he has good loops which I like about sagat. Seth is really really fun but I want to get in the opponents face and actually USE the mixups, not run away all day because my health is shit-tier. Vega is…well vega and Balrog is boring too, the momentum you ride with him just doesnt feel as ferocious or manic as when you’re rushing down with Bison.
To Guru: fun matches, too bad that shit was laggy as hell…

Hey bison community, I just started playing bison a couple of weeks ago and Im looking for some matches so I can keep improving my game. Used to play Balrog pretty exclusively, but that got boring so I decided to learn Bison.

So I went to Arcade Infinity since I am in San Diego for Xmas break. Coming from PA and never played in an arcade before, I was expecting the worse (XBL warrior; never even played in a tourny or any offline). Keeping in mind I havent played in 2-3 months…I did pretty damn good for my standards…I went on two 10 game winning streaks. It was funny…there was this one dude who was playing and he had his crew with him and what not, and he was on a pretty heavy win streak. I thought I might as well give it a try since I dont go to arcades…ever. When I sat down, his lil boyfriend was like “I can tell how good people are by the first 5 seconds of that match. Watch.” I got scraped the first round and the guy was like “Hah, this guys terrible.” 2nd round, I beat him, 3rd round, I perfected him. Dude shut the hell up in an instant. Then he put his token in and I handed him his ass too. The night was a blast though…need to start hitting up locals a lotttt more. Definitely got me back into SF4.
i need to play the arcade version of this game…i mean i live in NY and i havent even stepfoot in chinatown…ive been living here 6 years…but the thing is i have noone to go with me there lol…
