Still better than my utterly awful Birdie. Picked up a few things watching this though. Specifically killing head off cr.mp anti air and generally steady, solid play. Seeing decent Birdie players makes me realize just how much speculative BS I tend to throw out in the middle of a match thatās just watching to be countered and punished. Itās a fine line between turtling and playing smart for me though, hoping to cross that threshold by watching vids like this.

Yeah, I try to play Birdie like a wall, outside of a few lashings-out. Iāve also JUST started to incorporate Revenger into my playstyle, which is why you see me throwing out a couple of fullscreen ones in V-trig. That was a YOLO to figure out the range and speed against a moving player.
A couple of bad habits Iām aware of: I use chain too much, I can be too predictable with my poke blockstrings, and I go for LP Killing Head even when Iām right up in their face. After antiair MP, if you walk forward and time a Killing Head right, thereās really no reason to use anything but HP Killing Head. Unless you really want the stun from EX Killing Head, I guess.

I feel more confident in match ups with the majority of the cast despite some clear bad habits. Going to a couple local tournaments this weekend to see how the fat bastard fares.

@ShinOni youāre birdie is pretty solid, but you have some weird habits of just doing random shit. Like, from watching your matches you just whiff grab in the neutral a lot, when theyāre not even close to you, and do shit like down forward fierce just because youāre at good spacing for it, without really paying attention to the context of the situation. Good players will pull you apart for shit like that. Otherwise good shit though.
whiff grab in neutral is the closest you have to baiting the opponent into thinking youāre going to vskill. Otherwise iād just sit there.
If theyāre looking for v-skill really hard you can jab. Otherwise just walking around is a better idea.

Iāll check the replay again. I donāt record snippets like that a lot so the editing was awful lol. I couldāve swore the first one was a lp bullhead and the second was a mp bullhead, but you may be right!
