Birdie General Thread: The Banana Bogey Brawler

The tools are there
We’ve been telling you what to do
His defensive options are still there you just have to react faster
You can keep whining about it or learn to adapt and deal with it like the rest of us
Birdie is still good
As for guile, just neutral jump and walk him to the corner
Harass him with stHP and if he throws boom then you can bullhorn on reaction
If he’s to far then use can
Build up vtrigger and you’ll increase your chances
its tough but not impossible

I’ve played a few Guiles in s2 and I have to say that f. HP is still very good in this match up. Most Guiles won’t risk going for V skill and boom if you’re semi close to them. The F.hp punishes boom hard.

I’ve been experimenting a little with the Guile match up the last hour. Might have found something interesting. Birdie punishes v-skill pretty effectively with max range sweep. You’ll be surprised how far you can punish his v-skill with it. It looks like Guiles hurt box is extended pretty far in front of him. I’ve hit the sweep at a little under HALF SCREEN. Huge. It will also CC if I do it early enough on reaction.

Note: If you aren’t around max range, you’ll get hit.

f. hp is still really good at getting through his normal booms.

I’m starting to think this match up isn’t as hard as previously thought.

Wait first frame armour is still on ex bullhorn? I just have to react faster to the meatie? K I’ll try Kappa.
People are allowed to disagree this is a forum I was trying to discuss the change in Birdies options from s1 to s2 you know discuss thing on a forum craziness lol. I appreciate the others who are actually supplying info gonna try that Guile stuff later.

Then vreversal the meaty?
Like I’ve been saying?
Do you know the input for vreversal?

Yes crMP is worse for ex divekicks, you can still bullhorn if you’re reactions are good or if they arent you can EX bullhorn. You don’t need armor on 1st frame for that

Only real thing worse in S1 to S2 is crMP
fHP and slide can still be spaced

-2 ex bullhead and -2 bullhorn vtc cancel is huge so use that to your advantage

as regarding to cammys dp nerf, that means she has to eat pressure and grey life until she spends meter
just the same as you

For cammys that go stMP into crMK

If you have bullhorn charged, theres enough time for you to actually see the the crMK animation before letting go of the bullhorn charge and it’ll make the crMK whiff
The window is actually really large
Same for cammy’s stMP -> crMP and crMP -> crMK

Even with all the changes i’m still going to do my best to finally become a gold player.

Wait are you reacting to the crMK or just against predicted block strings

The window is large enough that you can actually see the crMK and still have time to bullhorn

i am in diamond rank but here in south america (i live in Chile) is really hard level up on ranked because there are so few players online and the connection is so bad, i am hoping to get to super and ultra diamond soon is posible to probe you can compete with birdie in high level of play specially in this season.
we have to grown up guys, this is a discussion forum, we don’t need to take this at the personal level.

back to birdie, i think the gray life recovery also benefits birdie, the new s.mp (guys i repeat it, that s.mp(+1) is just insane now), the ex bull head , and all of the others normals he has are really good to create a gray meter strategy.

That’s out of my league unfortunately I can usually 1 hit confirm sMPxxbullhead like 80% success rate but there’s no way I’m capable of reacting to the startup of a 7 frame crMK

it’s the only normal you’re looking for after stMP or they just jump or move

I’m just saying that I personally can’t reaction bullhorn a 7 frame normal I would have to guess. You probably have better reactions

practice
training mode
thats what i did and now im implementing it in BL

Are you able to react to fireballs 2-3 character spaces away?
should practice that too

Didn’t mean anything by it. Just saying that i am willing to put in the work to get that much better at playing birdie this season.

The timing on that is pretty lenient prob 15-20 frames at that distance my reactions are actually pretty good just not 6 frames good lol

give it a try
it might be easier on the eyes than you’re thinking
make her do stLK stLP stMP crMK
Let go of the bullhorn the moment you actually see the animation for the crMK not after the block of stMP
the window is actually really lenient

once you get the timing down its just a matter of applying it
the more you do it the more it becomes muscle memory

yeah because of it i quote your post, shows the correct attitude.

Just confirmed it
You can actually see the followup after blocked stMP and bullhorn it
I’ll record and show after im done
