What’s his go-to reversal? I’m getting thrown out of everything I try… I would’ve assumed it was the button-charge move (normal or EX), but it seems to get thrown on startup.
The nerf Bison got to scissor kick makes him free to command grabs. Bison can’t do shit if you go defensive when you gain the life lead. His slow walk speed doesn’t make throws a viable option when pressuring you.
Mika is giving me trouble. I cant challenge any of her normals it seems. Just have to wait patiently while blocking.
Loved Birdie, my favorite character so far. I got 1300+ with him.
Vega, Mika and Chunli were the hardest characters to fight.
Man, his cr.MP is so good. Most beta players were just doing endless neutral jumps and close cross-up jumps for offense, because other characters have trouble anti-airing right above their head. But cr.MP is so godlike it even hits people behind you. Props to whoever it was in this thread that mentioned you can set up a meaty s.HK after cr.MP anti-air, it’s very useful…everybody always mashes as they land so you get to do a CC combo. This turned my opponents jump spam into like 350 damage for me, lol. Then when they’re scared, you do SPD as they land. I won so many matches just doing random MK pokes and letting people kill themselves on my AAs.
I feel like an idiot now. I never tried st.HK after AA’ing them with cr.MP. Usually I’d block (thinking they’d SRK) or go for a command grab.

The characters I had the biggest problems with were Karin, Ken and Rashid.
It just seems like Birdie can’t stop people from comfortably staying in point blank range, which is kind of messed up. As a brawler/grappler hybrid people should be AFRAID to get close to him. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like his command grabs have invulnerability of any sort so they can just hit/grab him out of Killing Head every time he goes for it. I think that needs to be fixed. Killing Head should be a good wakeup option if they refuse to get off of you.
guys am I the only one who can’t stand ENG voice for Birdie ? I think JAP voice is way more cooler.

I beat a couple high level birdies with necalli , I feel necalli could give birdie issues he can shut down birdies v skill post effectively
I use EX bull horn to get people off me. It has armor and safe on block. It’ll get you the hell out of dodge if they neutral jump.
Yea same here. As a bonus, you can also combo into EX chain (corner) or Bullhead if you VT.
I think that’s his biggest weakness that needs to be fixed in the final version, he has no options for that up close because of lack of invulnerability on his command grabs

I played a lot of Hugo in SF4 and Jack-X in SFxTekken. They’ve got a lot more problems with rushdown.
Birdie has a great anti-air and one fast normal… you’re good. Just block and punish!
He has a hard time with pressure but it’s not too bad and I can live with it since he’s a good character overall. Without meter for that EX Bull Horn I’ve had luck using st.lk at least to get a small trade or just a poke. Course when you’re against someone like Rashid everything is just hard once they get in and I don’t even bother much to rely on the command grab right now, but at least if they neutral jump you can get a free anti air.

Just playing around with it, it actually seems like Birdie can be thrown out of every one of his specials on wakeup, including EX and his EX command grab as long as the throw is well-timed. But seems like you can jump on wakeup and avoid the throw attempt… unless my timing is crap, are there no grounded frames on wakeup?
