this is brilliant i’ve been messing with it in training mode. you can also go straight into the second ex bull head without the st.mp. you can also do st.mp into regular bull head too (light and medium versions).
i think birdie is actually a surprisingly good character. i still need to figure out some setups but overall he’s a lot of fun to use.
Some of his options are odd like you can’t special cancel d lp but you can v trigger cancel d lp so you can f hp d lp v trigger, the only immediate follow ups are df hp or hp or you can hcb lk. You can also take a short step forward and hcb lp.
Not sure, the beta build is still the E3 build where the activation juggle isn’t possible. I think in the Combofiend R mika video I remember Mike saying “this is new” but didn’t try and follow it up or anything
Alright, I need to know this because it’s driving me nuts. Dont mean to repeat myself, but how on earth do you punish sonic scythe? I’ve tried everything possible so far, and I just had a match in which the nash player caught on and cornered me and did c. jab x2 followed by scythe. During scythe startup, I haven’t figured out any normals that can punish it(if even possible), and i’ve mashed both standing and crounching lp/lk after the animation is done but I get stuff by nash’s own jab every single time. I highly doubt this is literally unpunishable but my experience with it so far is that it’s practically inescapable. Thoughts?
Cr.MP/St.mp beat its startup, You can try to punish on block with command grab but I’m not sure if that’s a true punish. I’ve been playing a lot of Ryu lately, so I just dp or parry into dp them for their troubles, but birdies best bet is probably to just stuff the startup.
Alright, I guess ill try standing mp; maybe after 1 jab it’s in reach to be punished but so far when i’ve tried c. mp after a 2 crouching lp blockstring, it’s out of reach or is beat out, although i’ve traded a few times.
Okay, I actually thought it was new but wasn’t sure. I only saw it in one of gooteck’s videos and it seemed like whoever did it didn’t do it by accident so maybe it already existed.
I guess the question now is will it get in the way of these potential V-trigger combos or improve them?
i would have uploaded my matches with the guy…if it wasn’t for the fact that these dumb fackers have disabled PS4 share functionality for no obvious reason.
Damn, I’ve only faced of against solid Chuns, Ryu’s and Nash’s. I want to fight against a Birdie that actually knows how to play dammit. I went undefeated with Birdie yesterday before I started fucking around, I don’t think he’s enough of a healer to fall into “grappler syndrome”. I think he’s a legit good character, and his normals and zoning are underrated.
I’ve only been beaten by one other birdie player during a mad rollback lag session. Otherwise, i’ve played against a couple of decent ones, but birdie mirrors are very lolworthy. It’s mid range poke festa for the entire duration the match. I also can’t help but think that when your’e both just shoveling down a million doughnuts in your respective corner, both players are probably chuckling the whole time.
i tried playing yesterday but i was so out of it…i really like the v trigger cancel from ex headbutt . The only complaint i have is i wish eating was just like a little faster…also in the new build it looks like bridy might move faster in v trigger. I could be my eyes playing tricks on me though.
Crouching middle punch, it’s one of the best anti airs in the game atm, if not the best. However the whole idea is to never let them successfully jump in. Getting character off of you with birdie is not easy, the idea is to not let them get to you to begin with. It’s the defensive ryus you should worry about. The ones that wait for you to make a move; that’s a lot tricker.
