[details=Spoiler] I already told you its all a thought experiment just like robert lutece said. there are no alternate demensions they are just alternate possibilities put forward for booker to change his emotional reaction making it easier to get deeper within his mind. this may interest you
your story that you’re trying to figure out is leading you nowhere. just like those flying machines may just look like that because the mind doesn’t know how to make sense of what its seeing. the whole game, where booker is may look nothing like how it looks in the game. creeped out yet?[/details]
have I not said it before? the lutece are aliens. there are two of them because they have a duality function. when comstock (whiter, older booker) is in power robert is the lead scientist and when daisy fitzroy is in power rosalind is the lead scientist. the purpose of comstock and fitzroy is a reflection of the polar opposites of bookers psyche. the lutece “twins” have taken that form to better relate to booker also working for him to build booker/comstocks “heaven” allows them into a comfortable place in his psyche. the whole war between races is something booker was involved with but taking the side of his prefered genes (if you look deeper into the story booker is part native decent) he feels guilty for the crimes he has committed, not only to other races but to a large part of himself. also the lutece use theories and practices that didn’t come into play until half a century after.
Where are you getting that they are aliens from? I dont remember anything that could hint at them being aliens. That explination doesnt really debunk the alt universe explination either.
I’m joking. but if you watch the video later that I posted and skip to 10:58 you’ll have an understanding why the lutece aren’t who they say they are. while booker is dazed they reveal a lot[/details]
No, she did not kill the original booker, in fact I don’t think there is an “original” anybody.
Who she did kill was the version of booker who accepted the baptism who went on to become Comstock.
The other booker who rejected the baptism, whom was the main character of the game, is unharmed, continues to exist and as a result of the game does so WITH his daughter.
[spoiler=] Why did all those Elizabeths fade away? Because they were all from variations of Comstock universes.
smothering Comstock while he was in the “crib” made it so that all universes stemming from Comstock would cease to be along with everything from them.
Hence the fading away of the Elizabeths.
[details=Spoiler]I like to think Elizabeth drowning comstock leads to bookers freedom but theres a couple of problems. If you notice the after credits cutscene is trapped in the dream world grey colour, also listen to bookers voice carefully as he opens the door IT’S COMSTOCKS VOICE.
now, if we go back to 10:58 in the cutscene iv shown there is an awkwardness in the animation of this EXPENSIVE GAME. Also take note of the objects and these awkwardness in animation then come back to me[/details]

Booker and Comstock share the same past however are different versions of eachother both beginning their different paths from the moment of the baptism.
Think of it as two branches growing from a common Trunk.
Killing the trunk would then in turn Kill both branches which would be analogous of killing Booker when he was a young kid or something of the sort. But what we have here in the ending is the destruction of only one branch which doesn’t affect the trunk or the second branch.
Elizabeth Killed Booker at the point IN the comstock universe where he was to accept the baptism and then become comstock NOT in the universe where he rejects it and remains Booker. does that make sense?
Killing Booker THEN and THERE would cause the subsequent ComStock Future from ever happening, this would have ZERO affect on the existence of the Booker DeWitt we played as.
If that doesn’t clear it up, take a different angle
Booker’s Daughter Anna only becomes Elizabeth when Comstock travels to DeWitt’s demension to buy her.
Killing Booker at the Comstock baptism made it so that Comstock NEVER EXISTED to begin with. Because Comstock never existed, he never traveled to take away Anna from DeWitt… Thus I think we can safely say that she is in her crib at the end.
Only DeWitt and Anna remain
Neither Comstock or Elizabeth ever existed!!!
Denial of what you haven’t actually said what any of this leads to. You’re just pointing out oddities in a game full of oddities without explaining the point of it.
if I gave you a story about how I walked down the street to buy a drink, but I fell over on the way back before I got home. thats open for you think about how I fell over, but then thats all you could get storywise. this is not only telling you more than any of you are paying attention to within the verbal dialog but then there is a visual dialog there as well. you guys are simplifying the story a whole damn lot
I like the fact that there are a lot of people who prefer things a lot simpler so there is a simple wavelength there for you to be happy with, but thats not the whole story.
just answer me this, the first thing anyone talks about in the game is the lutece twins saying the whole thing is a thought experiment
why are you ignoring the fact they said this? please answer me this
I didn’t read most of the posts because I didn’t care to, really. That said I’m not refuting anything you’re suggesting either. Even if that is what really is going on, I’d be pretty fucking upset as a player. Big of a cop out as “it was just a dream all along lolol” kind of endings/stories.
