Binghamton University (SUNY) Main Campus players

well, that’s the thing…he wants 10 people minimum before he starts making it a regular thing, so I don’t want to ad for it, not get enough people, then have him be turned off to the whole idea

We could always hold casuals at like the BCC LAN party to see if there are more people around who play fighting games but aren’t on SRK.
Then if we get 10 or more we can tell him.

Guys, we’re planning on running a tournament on November 18th for AE and UMvC3. If anyone’s interested, PM me, and I’ll fill you in on the details when I have them. As of now we don’t have a time or location, just the date (we’re waiting on the organizing club to let us know). We’ll probably stick around after the brackets for casuals as well.

If its in bing, I’m there. I wanna start playing against real ppl. Mvc3that is.

Tournament on Binghamton University main campus this Friday, Nov 18th @ 6:00 PM. Room G21 of Academic A building (underground/down the stairs). It’s part of the bigger LANime event behing hosted by a club on campus. Free entry, no prizes except for a UMvC3 t-shirt for the Ultimate Marvel tourney, and bragging rights of course. There will also be an SFIV: AE tournament. Double elimination.

Please bring whatever controller you like playing on–we have some sticks here but we don’t want there to be a shortage or for anyone to have controller issues. If you have a car and can bring over an set-up TV + console, PM me… the more set-ups we have the better.

I’m willing to bring my 360, no way I can bring a TV though.

same here, my only tv is an old tube type and I can’t lug that around

edit- can’t bring my console either unfortunately

I’ll remember to bring an HDMI cable next time. I also have an AV based capture card if you guys ever want to stream.

Also, there needs to be more Anime at LANime, I haven’t played Blazblue in person in almost 6 months.

so when are we all doing this again? I had a great time!

I dont know if any of you guys are available or have the means but we are welcoming all comers to the Rochester tournament we have going down this saturday

Hey, thanks for the heads-up. It was a bad weekend for a lot of us because it’s finals week, but lemme know about future events for sure.

Baaaw! Wish i popped in this thread 2 weeks earlier. I’ve been looking for people to play around my area and would have really liked to go to that tournament. Is there any sort of weekys/Bi-weeklys or anything that is welcoming to outside fresh meat? If so I know a good 4-6 people who are always down for some competition. If there isn’t already a small community and meeting place would anyone be interested in trying to throw together some bi-weeklys or something like that?

Edit: me and the people I play with usually play Blazblue, but they are recently as of UMVC3 getting into Marvel, and I myself really like Marvel and consider myself not half bad, but we will play what the majority of people play as long as there is competition.

the tournament that I linked in my last post is a monthly series that takes place on the second saturday of each month. However, I believe that for january, instead of our monthly tournament, there will be a larger, regional sized tournament in syracuse called the Dust Bowl. Most of the players in the buffalo/rochester/syracuse area will be attending that and you should be able to find in with a quick search.

HOWEVER

That same weekend theres going to be an even bigger tournament in Jersey with national level talent like Jwong and ChrisG in appearance, named Apex. Personally, myself and my training partner will be going to that. but its up to you. That should also be really easy to find if you look for it.

I was looking for people more local, that way i wouldn’t have to drive 3+ hours away to play and it could be more regularly (maybe) than once a month.

most of the BU guys are out of town currently, but myself and a friend or two like to get together for games occasionally, let me know if you’re down for a session over the break

Well it depends on where it would be. I can also get a around 2 -4 more people depending on where we would have the session.

As long as everyone’s chill I have no problem hosting at my apt, it’s on Leroy St. in Bing. I only have 1 working stick though, otherwise no issues. If we can get at least 10 people, Charging Star Comics in Johnson City might be willing to hold small tournies for store credit.

I can probably round up a good 6-7 people. I’ll talk to them as see whats up.

I live in Binghamton, and am up for games. PM me if you want to play.
