The whole training mode combo thing made me LOL 'cause that’s what I do when I am in a situation I don’t know how to handle and I go autopilot.
Good article, well written. I’d like to add that the most insidious mistake, one that negatively effects all of the fundamentals of the game while reinforcing the bad habits, is playing online too often.

Thanks for posting this up, man. It’s reinforced the things I thought I was doing wrong, like not keeping calm and making silly mistakes. I’m going to start doing things with an intent from now, rather than go for that j.rh, fat-ass training mode combo and try to fashion a nice ground game. You helped me a lot.

good thread i sometimes stop for 3 secs or less in the middle of a match to say stop doing doing that lol if im messing up or doing random pointless things. also lol @ that guy that got put on full blast. idk you would think that he would be like finally someone helps me so now i dont have to run from my problems and play another game but he says cool story bro lmao. its a chauvinistic pig attitude that GibbityTree has that you’re gonna do something because you play blazblue and you’ve got a f**kin hori stick and you ain’t gotta train every day so you’re gonna get out and strut that ass i mean arcade stick.

great read but this is kinda why i quit playing ssf4. its not a beginner’s game and requires too much strategy that takes away from the fun factor.
Not to be a dick, but what is easier than SSFIV in your opinion? Versus games?
shooting games are way easier if you ask me and plus you can enjoy them alot more without getting pissed off.
are you trying to say that the game is easy to play, if you are please think again. lets think about it for a second, what beginner’s game do you know requires you to pay for a 100+ dollar piece of equipment to even stand a chance against the competition? also, if you havent been playing sf since like 1991, youre not gonna be good at the game because you dont understand all the tactics and what moves work against a certain chatacter. lastly, the matchmaking sucks ass. i selected to play someone who was on my same skill level which is d+ however i counted getting matched up with a B+ gief, an A ranked C Viper and B+ Ryu. all were massacres might i add.
this isnt a real flaw with the game or whatever, but im tired of people acting their lives are better than the next man because they know how to play this seriously broken game. fuck outta here.
Sir you are sadly mistaken. Please look at how much equipment is used at people using headsets that hook up to lets say… MW2… You certainly would buy those headphones to hook up to your console, and when you lose, for the will to win, you’d have to out think the player. The point is that people will buy items like headsets and fight sticks to do what they like to do, not that anybody is telling them not to do it…

i didnt know ssf4 was broken and if you practice/train hard and actually do better in the game you have that right to act as if your better then the next man especially if the next man doesn’t want to do what it takes to win and call a game broken because that person sucks at it well excuse me you could always camp in the corner when the round starts and hope you win like mw2.
