Big Bang Beat

If they didn’t fix the untechability on her whiffed air uppercut, then yeah prolly.

Enough complaining, already…

First off, this is just an intermediate patch. In the readme they talk about this.
Second, about the whole “bursting out of supers” thing, they raised that to 4 bars (out of a new total of 5, leaving you with only 1 to combo with even if you succeed). That’s pretty expensive. So expensive that you might be better off waiting out the combo and employing those 4 bars offensively.
Third, I like the fact that they’re adding so much to the game without making everyone go out and buy a whole new one (I think we can all think of a few series that do this).
Fourth, I can’t understand why anyone would say this is either better or worse than HnK. Apples and oranges.
Fifth, you all probably know what you’re doing about as well as I do. And I don’t have any trouble with the new input system.

I can understand some of you have issues with this game. But seriously, if you take a step back, it’s pretty damn fun. The new stuff is just great.

As an aside, if you just go for hit count, some huge numbers can be produced. It generally won’t do a lot of damage, though.

I always liked the game, but now no meter = death…like flat out :frowning:

I co-sign on a lot of the points made here. I think that, a lot of us, are spoiled by the more professional efforts and so we are rather quick to complain. If anything I am thankful that this is a patch-able title. One that can grow and change and be set into better balance over time.

At present it is one of my favorite fighting games. I love the style, I love the accessibility of play, and the range of styles I am able to employ.

I really do believe this game would benefit with the addition of Netplay. I have spent this time honing skills that I am unable to put to use because, as of now, I have only one opponent that lives near me. Even worse is that we have yet to play against one another because of our hectic work schedule (as we are co-workers).

I think that once that is added it will cause even more excitement and the community for this game will grow exponentially - as Akatsuki Blitzkampf has (though I have yet to be able to find an opponent).

Oh, and after a period of re-adjustment I think I like this meter thing. It has caused me to be more thoughtful of my use of specials and abuse of C/H. It’s added a strategic element to my game and I think it an improvement overall and to our benefit.

Plenty of people complain and laugh about shitty games like CFJ and SVC all the time, it’s a forum and you’re allowed to express your opinion, deal with it. At the moment this game is vastly more aesthetically pleasing than either of those other titles, but it’s still boring and the system mechanics are still retarded.

Trust me, I’m rooting for them to make a good game. But I’m hoping that they actually turn it into a good game. Right now I’m bitching about the shit they need to fix in order for them to make it a good game.

Good, then let’s hope they eventually fix all the retarded system mechanics.

Man, in that last combo I posted, I started with one stock (ONE STOCK) and ended up doing 4 supers in a single midscreen combo which could have started from any hit, because I was building stocks mid combo!

And Ikusat informs me that they did not fix Kendo’s air super so if I was playing her I could probably get even more supers out because she builds back her stock with each super. So yeah, if I’m sitting on 4/5 stocks because I’ve been turtling my ass off (which is easy due to the air guard system and lack of overheads) you can’t super me, you can’t super me at all or I’ll just burst ON REACTION to the flash and punish you with a ridiculous loop combo that builds multiple stocks during the process of the combo. I’m not even joking about Kendo, she only needs to start with close to 1 bar and she can loop her combo into air super repeatedly until the knockback becomes too great for her to do any more supers (which happens to be a LOT of supers).

Standard. Melty Blood ReAct, Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Immaterial and Missing Power, Monster, Eternal Fighter Zero. They all recieved upgrade and update patches post-release. And from the look of things Scarlet Weather Rhapsody will probably receive patches too (the demo has already been patched a couple times). Guilty Gear is like the only exception I can even think of.

Yeah here’s to hoping that they get it right eventually after a bunch of patches. But as it stands now it’s still a pretty damn boring game.

Have you ever played HnK? They’re both 2D fighters with similar rulesets, not apples and oranges. More like apples and rotten apples. The BBB boost system comes strait out of HnK for fucks sake (it’s even called boosting).

The thing is, for a lot of us, no it is not fun. Maybe you’re having fun in training mode or whatever but so far my experience with the game has been really boring. The combo system, the air guard system, the boost system, the lack of airthrows, the burst system, the OTG system, and the lack of wallslam limitation make the game not fun to play. Nevermind that the characters all have retardedly huge normals.

The complete lack of netplay also makes it hard to play against people anyway. But when I do get to play against humans it’s not fun.

Yes because the damage values are now retarded. One super is equal to whatever huge combo you can come up with. So now the goal is to use as many supers at the beginning of the combo as you can for damage, then try and juggle the opponent with normals for as long as you can in order to rebuild meter. Wheeeeee.

So yea my fraps is acting gay!

Is there anyone out there that can capture good quality replays?

Im sure these combos will be worth it.

Try setting BBB options to
Fullscreen
16Bit

And fraps options to
60fps
half size
no cursor checked
no sync unchecked

If it still doesn’t work then yeah I can cap.

Those were my settings from when I did the 1st video and it worked fine… IDK whats going on this time…:wasted:

why the addition of unblockables? and other random foward C’s who gives a shit. Daigo is much worse now imo, but he does have accsess to some new orb costing moves I can’t see why some of them are good except for the dd+c which is a launcher. The game feels alot slower to me than before. For some reason my computer won’t translate over the readme correctly. Is there a complete new movelist posted somewhere (not updating ingame movelist is dumbbbb).

Overall not happy with this patch, doesn’t seem like the play tested it much at all.

I would’ve just preferred new characters, they’ve got a pretty big roster to choose from.

Big Bang Beat Combo Movie Chapter 2 Featuring Daigo Hotta is up

Version: 1.02

Faulting the lack of netplay is certainly justifiable, even though I personally do not enjoy it a great deal. However…

Even assuming the combo was pulled off correctly in a match, it didn’t do all that much damage and it gave the opponent more than 3 stocks.

Throws are powerful, and all characters have a great deal of mix-up potential. Some characters (Daigo, Agito, Senna) have very dangerous overhead attack abilities, and other characters can at least use B-dashes to create unexpected overheads. I don’t think turtling is really such a legitimate strategy.
Kendo’s super is now even better in this version, but giving the characters outlandish (although finite…something MB, HnK, and even GG had issues with) combo potential was obviously the developers’ goal right from the start.

I shouldn’t even need to say that HnK is a lot closer to GG than to BBB.

I sometimes get the impression that you want this game to be no more than a combination of games you have already played.

The main reason I asked for the complaining to stop is that it’s just not very constructive. I don’t post in game threads to talk about how much I hate said game. I post there to talk about strategies, developments, videos, etc. I’m not trying to single you out here and I realize that you have made a lot of positive contributions to this thread. But there’s little to be accomplished in trying to convince everyone that they should despise a game, especially in that game’s thread, and especially when many of the reasons are based on a personal conception of what a fighting game should be.

at evo, i heard there’s a version 1.2 or something? how do i upadte the game?

Oh yeah this game has a long way to go.

RE:
Zelikazi: If the game were no longer in development then yeah complaining would be beating a dead horse. It’s only natural to wonder out loud and share opinions about potential future events and the current state of affairs.

And, the combo didn’t do much damage because I focused on normals, it’s not impossible to start with 1 stock and still do huge damage. And yes turtling is a viable tactic… again I really have to ask if you’ve played this game against humans much? The times I’ve played it vs humans it became really stupid really fast. Check out D’nyc3’s latest vid, and also the one I posted in this post. Starting with 1 bar and doing shittons of damage is totally possible. Even easier for Kendo and Daigo.

I’ve newsed your 3 latest videos on BBBB, hope you won’t mind

PS : BBBB is working well, we already have 3 game guides and a new graphical aspect … And to talk of BBB, it’s much more easier than ONE topic for ALL discussions, nope ?

PPS : And even tough I understant why do some players dislikes BBB … Why so much hate ? Can’t you understand some people prefers to play that than GG or HnK ? …

hay, thanks for the update. i repped you.

^ Thanks.

The more potential a game has the more the game will catch hate for failing to deliver. I’ve already said I’ll be playing other games until the next patch arrives.

I still love the game, but I’m going back to the 1.01 patch until the next one. Some of the changes really clashed for me, like the slower P-charge and changes to Senna (noticably slower, altered her uppercut, etc.) and the command imput. Though I have to admit that I might pick up Agito since he seems a little less garbage now.

I think most people here have been fair with their criticism about why they don’t like how the game is currently like. How is it not natural for them to talk about such a topic since the new patch just came out? If anyone will still be playing this, I’m quite sure the normal discussion of the thread will return.

This certainly is a lot more constructive then people saying how they won’t play whatever fighting game because it has lolis in or whatever, which isn’t a wrong reason not to play a game, but geez it gets pretty old and annoying seeing it all the time.
