Did you play the original BBB? This is almost the exact same game. Even the backgrounds and music are the same. The only difference is a couple of new charaters (and a more restrictive combo system).
Well did you like the original BBB then?
I liked the original BBB more, the brokeness and the dashh system was actually fun, even if some characters where much better than others. The dash system made it possible to preform some pretty nasty mixups with all characters, i think the effects of the new mroe restrictive combo system (no dash mechanic, worse hitboxes on lots of moves, characters now missing moves) actually makes the game worse, i mean i havent played it versus people, but i really can’t see how this is going to be anywhere near as much fun to play.
BBBR positives
-everyone has an airunblockable move which cna lead to so interesting stuff, like air resets into block strings into airunblockables…
-more characters
-better special meter system (then 1.06, 1.03 was still fine)
-probably unintentional drop mechanic gives some characters better mixups
BBBR negatives
-hitboxes are pretty stupid for lots of things (wtf with daigo and 2 lows, one which is sweep, the other which is a command move)
-Still no airthrows (worst part about original game)
-BBB bursts if they are like the original are generally not necessary
-Damage scaling is dumb as fuck, like im sorry you made it possible to do this in your combo engine, but like scaling jabs, just cause they are jabs is stupid.
-removed the dashcancel mechanic, which really made the game interesting for a variety of reasons.
In general perhaps the game will be fine after they finish it, but judging by past patching im not holding out hope.
The damage scaling is crazy stupid.
Whenever i run start it keeps trying to patch to ver 1.02 but for some reason it won’t do it? anyone else havign this problem?
I dunno, once i got it to update, (Uninstalling, removing the demo, re-installing), then updating was smooth sailing.
What version are you currently on? It took awhile before I updated because I didn’t realize that it takes AWHILE for the first update to even start downloading.

Btw, i think the new name for the drop mechanic is inverse double jump or IDJ.

I got up to 20 something hits before I dropped it usually. I don’t know if it is an infinite or not (does recovery scaling have a upper limit?) If you start with the 5C, then the damage goes to 1 starting at 2862 damage. You don’t have to be directly in the corner when you start either. You can carry them a little with the first few reps.
How about Kara-Jump Cancel or KJC? You can tell which characters can do it because they have a frame (it looks like a standing frame) at the start of their double jump animation. I assume that you are canceling that frame into the air-attack (much like a normal kara cancel).
P.S. The characters who can’t dropjump have much smoother double jump animations.
I don’t think there is recovery scaling.
Well i never installed it, I just had a zip. I unzipped it and ran an update that came with it, that updated it the first time. But the it wouldn’t go to 1.02.
So now i re unzipped ito ta new fresh directory, ran the updater, and it downloads the update for 1.01, but just sits and won’t install it. Of course errors are all in japanese (well ??? on my machine) so I have no clue what the error is. Im goign to try and restart my computer incase there is something hanging around that is preventing it from updating, like it thinks the program is still open or something.
Maybe you just need to install the Japanese language pack. It should come with Windows, you just have to install it.

After that combo you will end floating and land like 2-3 seconds faster than your opponent.
Example:
C,2C,6A,9A x 24~30,jB,jC,236C
If you use …4B,236C you can safely mixup KJCC \ 2C into this combo.

?: How I suppose to type KJC with C attack? Maybe better just write FF for Fast Fall
Well, you’d probably write it the same way you write most other non-number commands. For example: j.C or cl.C. So: kjc.C (or if you want to use ff, then you’d type ff.C).
yeah Im having a similar problem too, I run the updater, then that finished, and then a patch installer starts up, only to just stop randomly part-way through. I have applocale set to JP too.

I couldnt get the uploader to run at first, I uninstalled and reinstaled in the defo folder the game want to install since then no problem.

Kojirou is hidden amongst the character files and with a bit of file magic you can pick him. Too bad he’s largely unfinished and only has his idle animation.
okay so on retry i can get the patch up to 1.01a, but goign to 1.02 it isnt’ giving me a file path option and since my file path is in a different location im thinking thats the issue…
