"Big" and/or "fat" characters in fighting games

For the record, Jigglypuff’s stock has risen recently and she is easily considered tourney-winning material, if not top tier. Some dumbasses even wanted/want to ban her, because arguably the top two players right now are Puff mains.

Man, I remember when I first played Soul Calibur for the DreamCast, I would choose Astoroth and spam the same move over and over again because the reach and damage was OP. My friends got pissed and banned me from playing Astoroth.

This is one of the many reasons people think of big/overweight (I don’t like calling them fat, that’s demeaning) characters are shunned. They boast power, but lack speed.

I also hated rufus at first. but the way his fat is in a state of perpetual motion has really grown on me

Jigglypuff was my favorite in melee, Rest = win in most games ive played

Nothing is scarier than Nightmare in SC2 wielding a sword made of meat…

I wish I had a sword made of meat.

I usually play quicker, weaker chars like chun, mainly cos i’m not very good and the extra speed helps me react faster when i’m taken by surprise (90% of the time :). Bigger chars are usually slower and often grapplers so getting close and doing the actual damage takes more skill.

I feel the same way, man. I think Rufus’s character design plays on this inaccurate presupposition. Not only does Rufus not suck, but he’s a very fast, combo-heavy character, despite his (awesome) fat-biker design.

She’s got Seig’s frame, plus one-inch heels and seven pounds of tits. It makes perfect sense.
