He understood what Walter was in BB, anybody would have murked him with any kind of moral compass and the means. His biggest fault was caring about his grand daughter.
In the end, Mike IS a really awful person too just like Walt. Not sure why you would put Mike over Walt in terms of morality. I’m not so sure if caring about his grand daughter was a fault, considering he ended up doing all this shady stuff to try to support his grand daughter. Kind of hard to say, but it’s likely he wouldn’t have been caught up with drug lords in Arizona if his grand daughter didn’t exist.
Doesn’t mean he didn’t take pay for putting people into the dirt.
No main character in the BB universe is a saint.
They are all scumbags who justify the dirty shit they do through some veneer of “righteousness”.
He goes to kill Walt, because Walt killed their drug dealers, prevented them from dealing with the DEA, and didn’t know his place. It wasn’t a random killing. It was business.
Walt killing Mike? That was just ego.
Again, he was paid to do stuff like this so he ain’t really a saint. There’s a point where he stops caring about killing people. I’m curious to see what it is.
Geez… Chuck may be right, but he ain’t "right."
What an intolerable asshole; the moment he taunted Jimmy at how he would be late, knowing full well it was out of genuine concern for his welfare was totally scummy. His assertions about Jimmy’s decisions and ethics may be valid, but in spite of this, I still lost all respect for him this episode.
I hope Kim Wexler realizes the lengths Jimmy is going through to recompense for his actions.
I’m guessing this episode is further pushing Mike into the no half-measures territory
He avoided trying to kill Tuco, because killing for money would be crossing a line he’s not ready too
Ofcourse, now that he has made an enemy in Tuco, I’m sure he’ll regret that decision.
This show is great.
I agree that part of the reason for not killing Tuco is because he doesn’t want to bloody his hands. The other reason is him being aware of what monsters the Salamanca’s are and the blowback from one of their own getting offed.
We already saw the scorched earth policy the cartel had in Breaking Bad regarding those in the game, and to them being caught by the pigs would be seen as the cost of doing business. On the other hand, an assassination of their own would start an Inquisition.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Mike is a very bad guy.
He’s an honorable criminal, like he said. You can be a good guy or a bad guy independent of being a criminal
Many of the characters fall on different spectrums of morality, and maybe it’s just because I like the character, but I don’t see Mike as falling into the same spectrum as someone like Tuco, The Cousins, or Walter.
So, did Chuck get cucked?
His wife probably left him after his condition worsened, or the condition was a psychological cause due to her leaving him. Either way, they’ll probably explain it later.
We going full Salamancas now. Fuck, wonder how Mike is going to handle this. It’ll be interesting to see if the Salamancas and revenge are the reason he started working under Fring.
son. i just caught this week’s episode. my erection tore a hole in my favorite pair of church pants, son.
son. imma learn how to make gifs because of this episode. fuck everybody in this thread.
I’m guessing for some reason Chuck’s wife leaves him and that’s when his condition starts.
Anyone else get a pretty bad vibe from the scene of Hector visiting Mike? Hector knowing Mike is an ex cop means he knows about Mike’s family. BAD news for Mike.
I thought it was pretty well established that the source of Chucks worsening condition is Jimmy. Whenever Jimmy starts acting up, Chuck gets worse. To the point hes basically mentally unable to cope with a world in which his fuckup brother is more well liked than he is. Even when chuck is having his panic attacks, Jimmy is there to explain to him why things aren’t as bad as they seem, and instantly Chucks condition always seem to get better. But you know, it also makes sense that would play into his wife leaving; I mean, Jimmy is around again, so thats probably what triggers the condition in the first place, and likely causes her to leave? I hadn’t really even wondered about that before, was this the first mention of him being married?
Hector isn’t asking Mike to change his story, he’s basically demanding him to.
I’m guessing Mike ends up doing it because it seems like Tuco only serves five years instead of eight by the time Breaking Bad starts.

I was about to say. According to the BB timeline, he should be running into Walter not that long into the future.
I’m wondering if Chuck’s cautionary story to Kim is even true or not. Based on what we’ve seen, we already know that Chuck has this weird, irrational jealousy of Jimmy. Jimmy taking 14k from his father’s business might be possible, but I’m wondering if this is just another one of Chuck’s schemes to try to dig at his brother.
Their dad probably gave Jimmy the money, but Chuck saw it as Jimmy “stealing” from him.
