I’ve been thinking on building an Xbox One stick and I’m having a hard time deciding what PCB to use. I’m thinking of using a pdp MK X pad as they’re chap, and looking at the pictures online it looks a fair bit simpler than other PCB’s. (common ground, no trigger inverting). I’ve also been thinking about the Hori Fighting Commander. Also as convenient as the Brook UFB looks at $150 CAD plus shipping it’s a bit more expensive that I’d like.
If you JUST need XBO support, no need to spend the extra cash on a UFB if you’re not going to take advantage of the PS3/PS4/PC/X360 support as well.
The MKX pads are very easy to padhack, so those are very well recommended.
I’ve never seen the PCB to the Hori Fighting Commander for XBO, but if the PS4 versions are any indication, those are very easy to padhack as well, so you can’t go wrong there either.
My only issue with the MKX pads is that the home button is a bit of a pain to get to. I usually have to expose the trace, solder to that and then drown it in hot glue to make sure it doesn’t tear the trace off. A Hori Fighting Commander will probably be easier if the pcb is anything like the ps4 version.
