Anyone know a good DDR pad for around $10-$40? Went to the arcade the other day and really felt nostalgic after playing in such a long time 
I might go for the cheapo regular mats but I hate the god awful crackling noise it makes.

No such thing as a good DDR pad for that price. (I own two Cobalt Fluxes, thank god I won both and didn’t pay for either).
I miss my 5th Mix machine ;_; I should start playing again… but these new mixes are awful, I played X or whatever with the HD screen, and there was the most awful input lag. 5th > *, Extreme isn’t bad, but 5th Mix timing is godlike.

LOM was never the hardest song. Paranoia Survivor MAX Oni was much harder. Sakura was harder to AAA than any of the other 10s, but FCing was definitely PSMO.
My only regret in DDR was never going back and AAAing Legend Road Oni Course. Two greats mar that achievement ;_; I also played in a time before Youtube or affordable cameras in fucking everything, so none of my exploits are saved :[
<edit> The best thing to do was find someone else who was playing on heavy, play with them, and turn on a whole fuckton of modifiers (8x, Reverse, Hidden, etc etc.) and just read off their screen. No one ever called me out on it. Ever.
<edit 2> I’m not exactly sure Sakabato, but Pop’n Music, IIDX and GF all use Sanwa switches. I’ve not played Jubeat, so I’m not sure. I thought it was entirely touch screen though…
