With Tekken 7 around the corner, I would like to be able to break 1+2 grabs without holding my controller claw style.
I remember a long time ago some guy on YouTube modded his PS3 controller by molding some kind of gel like substance on the Square and Triangle button. It made it easier for him to press both Square and Triangle together with just his thumb.
Does anyone have any leads or practical ideas? I don’t like pressing shoulder buttons to break 1+2 grabs. When I see grabs in Tekken my first instinct is to reach for the punch buttons. It’s not very intuitive for me to reach for the shoulder button.
Only way I can see someone mashing 1+2 without using claw style or shoulder buttons would to “fat thumb” it by using the tip of your thumb on 1/square and rotating the bottom of the thumb knuckle towards 2/triangle. And just practicing it till you get fluent with it.
If you wanted to try experimenting though, I would try on a cheap controller.
I did it. I went to Lowes and brought some softouch bumpers.
All I did was I removed the adhesive sticker glue on the bumpers. Put some rubbing alcohol on the buttons and the bumpers.
After they were dried, I put a drop of super glue on each button on the PS4 controller. I have the x and circle perfectly centered. I have square and triangle a bit closer together.
If you’re not comfortable with modding the existing buttons, but can handle a philips head, order a set of replacements on ebay. Mod those, drop them into your pad. Not a warranty sticker in sight on the initial gen ds4s.
