Are you referring to this video? Chun Li throws Ryu out of Denjin at 1:00. If so I think this was just a trailer with nothing more to it.
Does anyone still have the link to that epic thread from before?
Trivia: “Unknown” is actually DSP. Not every single “Unknown” post but it’s pretty obvious which one is him.
damn every time I read an old thread there’s shit talk. seems like people took this stuff very personal.
these days all us online warriors just hug each other all day
Not if you’re from New York.
It’s true.
everyone on facebook gets grumpy when the NY cats start doing their thing but I kinda like it. makes me think it’s a small piece of the good old days.
New Yorker’s are salty. You know that “I’m walking here!” scene from Midnight Cowboy? It’s true.
I had one of those I’m walking here moments. I just finished crossing the street.
As for New york cats, it wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t have to pretend they were out in the slums of New York fighting for their clans respect or whatever. Reasons for fighting seem to always be something like “Become the best or commit to being shit for the rest of your life” instead of something like “Become the best or become second or something else.”
lol the last moment (absolute last 1/2 second) of the 12th part
“…tight.”
indeed.
That’s due to a lack of neutral ground. That idea that this machine isn’t like the one that I play, or that these guys all play differently than we do just never plays into the decision process at all. That’s why you rarely ever see someone that is willing to play at evens. It always starts from within the game and almost immediately too so these guys don’t get to know each other they just learn who they have to be and all work towards that, killing the others in the process because only one person can be at the top. If there is shit talk, any kind of shit talk would have to be just a bunch of put downs, lambasting for not having a crew like we do, edge hype like the kind you see between fans on the sidelines or a lot of misunderstandings. This is why you never hear players on tv say things like “they just weren’t ready” and so on and so forth. They talk about their own abilities and how they were able to use that aspect of their limited control. ( That’s a lot of bullshit too, though, because only the stars get to have their say yet I digress ) Those talented players can actually see what is going on. Because they practice at home for the new condition, not practice with team at home to figure out a way to continue making ourselves feel at home. Fuck it, let’s just gang up in there and take over the place. Then we can be however we want. Don’t worry about the talkers, we can just shoot them. Or have them jumped.
I know this because where I live there were a lot of sons of drug dealers and I had to grow up with the threat of being better than or beating the wrong guy. Didn’t want to get jumped by 16 people. That’s why when ggpo comes in here and starts their shit I always say something and follow it logically even if they claim it makes me sound like a scrub. I won’t stand idly by while that kind of bullshit happens.
Back then, nobody went to extremes like these. At most you’d hear about a rumor that had been started but it wasn’t supposed to carry on through to the rest of the series, you know? There’s something about the voices that are carrying our story that we haven’t considered. I’m thinking maybe we need to tell the story a different way.
