Good American Akuma outside of JR that you can play against online?
I think I played some guy named musicjunkie or something. He sucked, but I you could play him to learn something. He’s definitely learned how to play online and mitigate the lag’s effect on your game. Just always do the fastest, most difficult to fuck up attack in any of those situations.

He jumped? Jump Tatsu.
He’s blocking? (Demon Flip dive kick, fierce xx demon flip )*n
He’s attacking? Tatsu!
You’ve been knocked down? Wake up Fierce UPPERCUT!

And I lost to 'em. Why? I kept jumping trying to parry the tatsu but sometimes it looked like it was above him but nope, tatsu has some weird vertical shift property on his game where the spinning kick moves around up and down, like in that sf4 ultra video for his second ultra.

this is every Akuma in ranked right now. at some point in the last two months they all graduated from “tatsu only” to adding in repeated demon flips. I guess online ranked is leveling up in it’s own fashion.

Likewise, what ever happened to Shodokan123 from RI? He had those kara palms down like they were nothing… and KOFiend, Helgen, and Lavaheart? Do they stack up?

KOfiend stop playing but the knowledge never rly goes anywhere so he’s definitely still there but not up to date, Helgen in terms of playing Ryu he’s smart, and Lavaheart not rly, he stopped playing and i doubt he’s actually changed his playstyle even if he did so probably not

I think threads like this is kinda old and boring. There are no definition of “best player”, everything is just someone’s opinions nothing more. I hate the way people compare “player A is better than player B because of XYZ”, sounds like Youtube warriors or stream monsters to me.

Talking about opinion, as a Urien player. I say RX can be the most fun and fancy Urien to watch, but my playstyle is adapt from players like Onanism, Pierre and TOKIDO (og players) or new players like Taihei, Ushi!?, Rikimaru, someway Chako (very underrated Urien). Because to me solid > fancy playstyle. There are no best player, just good players with different styles.

Good to know. KO Fiend busted me the fuck up in Evo 2k7, and I met lavaheart at NEC 2k7, while drunk as fuck and he was going round for round with Helgen, which is why I brought him up. He perfected me once in CTF too, so I wasn’t really sure how good he is.

Honestly, when I made this thread, I had the mindset of “good players” as being the best grouping for specific character. If I think of “best players”, the only ones that ever come to mind - Kuroda, Boss, Ino, MOV… I don’t see many others close to them in terms of ability on their character(s) and overall ability in general - and I rank them in that order.

all this is is a list of current “top” players ie. maybe for looking up videos? nobody is really comparing anything.
