I agree that you often can’t say who is the best player with a character and with my list I just wanted to give some suggestions regarding the subject.
But like Emanuelb said I think it is better to list more players for each character. Many times there are 2 players with each character that have the same skills.
Different players have different playstyles even with the some character.
Take for example Vangief, Snake Eyez and Itabashi who play differently from one other,
Or Proudstrawberry and Bullcat.
Edit: For best Dee Jay I’d like nominate FREEJ4Y, Kurokiba, Da Knut and Dialupslim.

Best Deejay no one deserves. It’s probably one of the japanese guys we don’t get to see play.
I think that the following deserves consideration:
Vega: throw** Zeus **into that mix, make it a triple party
Guy: Marq Teddy deserves it, he’s been out there doing his magic very well this year
Hakan: EBI is the only man to win a major with Hakan. Kimo from California beat F. Champ and PR Rog with his. Infiltration is NOT the best by FAR. He is not a character specialist, he uses Hakan as a tool. He is a brilliant playerand damn good but best? No way.
Gouken: I believe it’s Veloc1raptor, not Infiltration.
**Sakura: **ChrisG or Chuchu honestly.
Ken: Momochi is a good choice, but KichijojiKen and Michael Tan are equally acceptable choices.
And people who don’t compete in tournaments should not be ranked as highly as those who do so and win.
And ah,** Gen** is the god damn EVO champ, Xian. Any argument otherwise is idiotic.
Reiketsu > Zeus, there’s no way around that. Zeus is cool to watch, but he isn’t the best Vega.
I’ve said that SnakeEyez is the best Gief in the world for almost a year now, and why the fuck would I hate SnakeEyez for playing on pad when I play on pad myself? calm down. If I had to pick one, SnakeEyez would be my pick for best Gief, but Cantona is really, really damn good, watch the second url that @Essenthy posted and see for yourself.
most top Arcade Japaneses players actually compete in tournament very often and the top ranked place themselves very high every time ( see the starting over series just recently ) but we dont hear about theme thats the problem , so peoples think that while they are high rated in the arcade they dont enter any tournament wich is pretty false … also most arcade tournament are in TEAM one single elimination most of the time wich leave no room for mistake , we could also say that in double elimination/BO2/3 you wouldnt have the chance to scrub your opponent and you would have to adapt with more strategies
however the top xbox live japanes players dont enter tournaments at all ( except very very few of them , banbaban ,taiga , fentamu ,the topanga guys ofc …) so i wouldnt take anyone from that and place it in the list

Wtf, do you even watch these players? URyo has so much technology that doesn’t even get used by any of the other players, except maybe Juso. If anything, ChrisG is the most basic on the list (though I still like his Sakura) but he is the one that lacks the most technology and “bullshit” out of all of those players. URyo is far and away the best Sakura player now, then followed by Juso, then I think ChrisG over Humanbomb but not sure.
For Gouken, Proud Strawberry is better than Velociraptor.

I like the list but I’m no specialist like some guys here, however there’s a couple of things worthy of mention:
**iPeru **for Fuerte. That should be a non-issue.
Bison, why not show Dogura some love?
Dhalsim, I really think** Filipino Champ** deserves mention.
Execution and technology is not all, Momochi has more success with Ken than Playerjun even though Jun uses more advanced stuff.

Keoma’s Abel should be considered. The guy is RIDICULOUS
