Best Strange is Tenbosu. Nobody else plays like him now.
Elverg0n and royalflush easily have the best results with modok. Pigg has a great modok too but doesnāt go to tournaments (could be wrong) but he was tearing shit up on fanatics stream . I agree with figure and give elverg0n the edge here
I think Pgorath has the best shuma because he is the only one who still uses him(I donāt remember he playing umv3 tough)
The funny thing is, Haggar works so well with Thor its kind of scary. Makes you wonder why he didnāt pick up the mayor.
Does Thorās beam assist work similar to Doctor Strangeās in that it can be crouched under by smaller characters? That would lead to some intimidating command grab set ups against those who donāt know the match up well. Seems like tech that Abe would exploit the hell out of if it worked.
Bleh, watching ABEGEN almost makes me want to pick up Strange due to the similarities in the assists (I HATE SENTINEL I HATE SENTINEL I HATE SENTINEL).
Also as far as why he picked up Tron I would bet you he saw the Beacon Bomb tech with She-Hulkās anti-air grab in Vanilla and decided he had to try this.
Honestly, I love it when people crouch under my projectile assists.
^ plays MODOK and haggar
Iām not good enough at this game to play MODOK. If I was I totally would though.
Probably not good enough at this game to be playing Strange either but fuck it I absolutely loathe the way Sentinel plays. Itāll all be worth it if I get just one message that says ānice job grabbing through block stun hacktardā.
I wonder what ever happened to MoTempest, real life get ahold of him? He had a pretty nifty MODOK. Until I see Elvergon play someone Iāve heard of outside of Texas my opinions reserved. His fans are like bible thumpers though, maybe I should review his matches for things to steal.
Fanatiq called out RayRay and Joker for a money match, so that this is finally settled.
THIS. NEEDS. TO. HAPPEN.
You donāt need to see him play a big name player to appreciate what an excellent command of MODOKās tools he has. He faces very pro opponents in his YouTube videos, too. His sparring partners are clearly players that know what theyāre doing. Hell, he often plays Jan, the famous Guilty Gear player, who is pretty damn good at UMVC3.
I have to say that he probably has the best MODOK Iāve seen that is in the tournament scene (I havenāt looked much into the Japanese doks, and I donāt know of any other prominent doks from around the globe). Iād say his is more solid than Royal Flushās or MoTempestās (though MoTempestās definitely has the best tourny swagdok) based on what I have seen, but there is only so much tournament footage of each of them, so it isnāt easy to say. Iāll also say that, having played more than a few games with Elvergon and with other non-tourny doks (albeit online), there are at least a couple doks that are on par with Elverās dok based on what I have experienced.
Zak Bennet for Firebrand.

Not the best video I could find in five minutes on youtube, but hereās a vid of him kicking japanese ass.
I agree, I do think that Elvergon has a better MODOK than RoyalFlush and MoTempest.
And you really fought other MODOKs that were as good as Elvergon? Wow. I have encountered many pro MODOK players online myself, but none as insane as Elvergon.
Knowing what youāre doing is one thing, but to know what youāre doing against equally excellent competition is another. Not that I expect MODOK to wreck shop vs an equally excellent player who plays a higher tiered character well but seeing what he can do with the tools heās mastered in that situation is what itās about. Case in point, Iāve heard people praise my MODOK and call it better than some named MODOK players but itās a difference in play style I believe. Being a point MODOK player probably has a factor in it as well. Not that MODOK is better on point, Iām just saying sometimes watching Royal or Elvergon I donāt get to see much MODOK because heās in the back a lot. Being a team game itās hard to see where the difference lies really without watching LOTS of matches. Iād love to see more of his matches where MODOK gets more screentime is all.
If he plays online Iād love to invite him to a lobby one day just too see how he deals with other peoples BS that I play.
Itās all in how they deal with the bullshit that is UMVC3. Just saying big named players are big names for a reason generally. Its a measuring stick, if the best MODOK just gets bodiedā¦thenā¦you might as well be the bestā¦Hsien Ko and the whole lot of us are sad
(In other words I have to get off my lazy ass and watch more MODOK play from tourney players. Iām a go to the tourney, then play in casual after the tourney player lol) Whatās a pro Dok player anyway? A tournament MODOK? I have a friend who plays him and wipes the floor with me that NEVER goes to tournaments and Iāve been told that offline Iām hella solid.
Itās not impossible hell, look at BUM who noone outside on NY knew about until he started streaming shit. (and still doesnāt go to tourneysā¦) We just have such a small sample of DOK play in the community exposed imo. Out of tournament MODOKS thatās all of whatā¦3? 4? DOKS we actually have footage of?
I donāt know much about Modoks but from what I saw of Yokohama Modok, he looked pretty good. The problem is there isnāt that much umvc3 footage of him, mainly vanilla.
