Best monitor to buy for my computer

I’m looking into buying a new monitor for my computer (gonna spend about $200, hopefully less if possible) and was wondering what are the best brands I should be looking at.

Right now I’m checking out samsung and view sonic, but was wondering which one is highly recommand type of monitor.

I see quiet a bit of version of sync master moniters from samsung, but then again I want to get the best image I can get for $200.

Was wondering what you guys would suggest in a good monitor.

Slightly more, but it’s the best you’re going to get for around $200.

Actually, I’m more or less just worried about burn-ins.
Would this such an issue with any kind of LCD monitors?

Here’s a similar one for a little less. I personally have been using it for over a year and it’s still going strong.

HannsG 19" monitor. I’d never heard of the brand when I bought it, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one. I bought mine based off of reviews @ Newegg, taking into account my price point.

It comes with built-in speakers, but I haven’t ever plugged them in. Honestly, I don’t even know where the speakers are on this thing. They’re hidden pretty well. LCD monitors don’t really suffer burn in.

ive tried many different brands of LCD monitors and dell always looked best. id say go with dell

get a dell dude

Dell are made by samsung.

One thing to keep in mind is that Newegg’s dead pixel policy isn’t the best.

I recommend either a Samsung or an AOC.

I just got myself a Westinhouse 22" monitor with 700:1 contrst ratio and 5ms response time, absolutely beautiul monitor with vga and dvi input for $210 from Best Buy. You can only purchase it online, but it is very worth it. I highly recommed it, Westinhouse has a great warranty policy and is trying to make a big push into the monitor market right now.

What kind of video card do you have?

Co-sign. I picked up one of these Westy 22" widescreens last August as a birthday gift to myself. It was $170 on sale at the time. I’m trying to get another one here in the coming months for a dual monitor setup. I don’t need a dual setup, but gah damn it’ll be nice to have one.

I’ve got a Samsung SyncMaster 932BF, and my brother has a slightly older model, and they’ve done us great. I think they’re definitely worth the (relatively low) price.

cool, thanks for the info guys.

looking more into the monitors, I actually do some really good monitors on sale at Best Buy.
The 225BW is supposly on sale for $260 at Best Buy at this moment.
If that said, I wonder how much the 205BW should cost (seeing as how the only differences is that its only 2 inches smaller).

7900 GS

Actually, I notice that some monitors need optimum settings for the resolution for certain monitors to look there best (which is where the video card comes in).

For some reason, my video card’s max resolution can only get up too about 1280 x 1020 yet I’m seeing the monitors needed to run on 1440 x 900 =/

22" westinghouse ftw
i have one as well
$169 on black friday

I got an envision 22 inch from best buy for 200. I love it, it has never given me problems and the image is really sharp and clear. I hook up the dc to it for fighters and schmups, but the xbox 360 doesn’t look very good on it. Max resolution on the monitor is 1680x1020 and the 360 outputs 1366x768, so the image is a bit pixelated all in all a great monitor
