… Im still waiting for an answer to why you have yun’s dive kick more than akuma’s and yangs.
Congrats, you suck. So you come second place in a local tournament while you’re ranked -20543 in Japan, and better yet, I have no idea who you are in the US at all. Have fun. All I see is talk, and no show. :chat:
Like I said, get on 2DF.
I just said it was a part of his game plan (as well as the others), but they aren’t as bad because Genei-Jin is scrubby.
Yea because 2df is where champions are made :xeye:.
It’s like Joe is a slightly more subtle version of that Roshihikari troll.
never forget Roshihikari
So I’m assuming you saw a video of me playing from two years ago, where I didn’t know the game as well as I do now. Wow, YouTube is so great, isn’t it? If you’re so great and awesome at this, why don’t you post up some of your “worthwhile” play so we can all be educated on what good play is, then, hm?
Have fun playing on 2DF with all your lag tactics, scrub.
I’m REALLY confused about some of what you posted here. As far as I know, cr.mk doesn’t cancel into ex wallkick (hcf axekick?), but I could be remembering wrong.
Hit-confirming cr.mk seems much harder than linking st.mp, and I don’t know why that’s ballsy, by your view. ?? It’s harder to set up, I suppose, but it has deceptively-good range.
I also am confused by your reference to cr.mp --> wallkick, unless you mean cancel into lk wallkick and no jump-in for that combo (the jump-in would push the opponent too far away to connect the axekick, I believe/pushback), since I know cr.mk cancels into lk wallkick, and st.mp has the same hit-stun and basically works the same way in terms of cancel timing.
'No big issues, regardless, though
I also wanted to mention that Duralath has a GREAT and entertaining Alex and is tough to beat. He also has a great Urien. He has used combos on me that I didn’t even know were possible! lol.
There are a LOT of those who like to poke fun at ppls’ youtube matches yet they don’t get their own matches uploaded, so they CAN’T TALK, but the point is, even if they had reason to think otherwise, berating someone for their relative level of skill is NO WAY to “level up” the community, so to speak. Chewing out a trash-talker in self-defense is FINE, though, but it might not have any effect! It just winds up depressing me anyway lol. If you hate someone just cos you think they suck, beat them and leave it at that, and hope they’ll play somewhere else (this is why it’s nice to have arcades w/ multiple cabs, w/ less waiting time to play) I NEVER chew out ppl who aren’t as good as me, and I don’t even trash-talk except to mess w/ friends in friendly JEST, BUT if some strange trash-talks me on youtube, I ask them things like “do YOU know how to play?”, which the online dorks never seem to answer lol. Sometimes they’re just messing w/ me or wanna play some matches, so just SAY so, get to the bloody point, and don’t be silly  You wanna have a DEBATE with me about games? That’s GREAT, but let’s keep it interesting and informative.
A good example of youtube recordings making ANYONE look weak is to consider 1 Japanese player getting whooped by another player for ONLY ONE MATCH. Double perfects seem more common in this game than ANY FIGHTER. I have evidence online of getting whooped, lol, as well as matches I’ve won that seem to impress and entertain others here and there, but I feel bad for ppl like Goh (Ibuki) that got double-perfected by Roshihikari. Sugiyama did the same once to Ushi, and I can’t help wondering if the ‘!’ at then end of Ushi’s player name was put there just because of that match, which was my introduction to him. The most famous double perfect seems to be J beating Kokujin. These are the 3 recorded youtube matches I can recall finding online. 'Oh YEAH–and Rikimaru double-perfecting Aiku is another match, and THIS is the PERFECT example, cos it was from a set of matches, and guess who won the other 9 out of 10 that were recorded? :LMAO:
I, like many U.S. players, have been double-perfected at LEAST once in the 6+ years I’ve been playing (WHOA! I just remembered it’s happened 3 times, cos I tried to parry or got crossed up a lot, and I wound up beating 2 of them about 3 minutes later to redeem myself a bit, and the 3rd dude I almost double-perfected the next time I played him), so I KNOW all about humility! I even know some good U.S. players that have been double-perfected, and it’s no big deal lol. Let’s just say that Makoto’s notorious for this! I don’t consider myself to be that good, but I have been improving a little as of late. I also want to mention, for the record, that I only found TWO U.S. matches online involving double perfects, and both were 3-round matches, so it wasn’t the classic double perfect match, as obviously both matches had some back-and-forth retaliation  One time my friends Mike Z and JR were playing a bunch of consecutive matches, and how I WISH we were taping back then, cos almost every round was a perfect; each round lasting about 10-15 seconds, and I’d say they broke even that day 1 or 2 good guesses per round and ANY match can be over! It was a total skill exhibition on both sides, and SO entertaining.
Some ppl just want to start crap, and I just ignore them when they don’t change their attitudes–they don’t have the BALLS to say it to my face, it seems I have seen some new players get REALLY good, and I woulda been cussing MYSELF out if I discouraged them from improving, cos we would have MISSED OUT on having them in the community! I can’t speak for anyone else, but I LOVE it when new, good Japanese players enter the scene to help keep the game FRESH!
It’s great to get better, but I always have a 2-pronged goal: have fun, ALWAYS.
Yeah, you’re better than Kuroda who plays online.
'i pway at denjin, im gud!"
RockTakane: Respect, bud. Haven’t seen you in a while. I hear that Necro of yours leveled up quite a bit.
Joe: The only reason why I bother disrespecting you (and not heed the other machinations and warnings of other SRK members on here) is that you obviously just don’t get it. Now, one player in your area doesn’t exactly make your entire area better than the rest. Same thing with 2DF. Just because guys like Kuroda and Boss play on 2DF doesn’t exactly mean that 2DF is now the place to play. Keep in mind, Japan’s internet connections put U.S. connections to shame. Room for error is less there, if almost nil. Not like here, where you’re constantly risking choppy refresh rates, different levels of connection, etc.
Not once did I state where I play. I’m not a Denjin-level player by any means; that’s for sure. Denjin does have the best around, as far as we all know. I’d like to one day say I’m on that level, but honestly, I’m not there yet. But you don’t see me spouting around, going, “Oh, I’m good, I’m awesome, I play with the best of the best, you suck, etc.” Or telling people that they suck because they might have a more educated view on something.
I asked you if you wanted to continue this in PM because I figured you might actually have something to say worthwhile. You know, actual input.
Oh, wait, that’s right, you said you didn’t care about this subject anymore, hypocrite. GTFO. In fact, I’ll see you at EVO, if you’re man enough to go, son. Sure, 3S isn’t a main game there, but I’ll have it run casually. Step up there, son. Or come to Cali and prove yourself.
And back on topic, Chun/Ken/SA1 Ryu/SA2 Yang. Everyone else said it, everyone else agrees, boom. Learn one of those, then go to someone else if you want, or learn your character more.
Good US players play online as well, but you will still be full of excuses… Tenren, Cruise, Shinshay, Nica, Kofriend, etc… You take gaming too seriously if you can’t have a fun match online.
They do, and all of them still know that offline’s where it’s better to play. What are you trying to prove here?
The way you build it up, your posts reek of “online is a legit place to actually prove yourself”, when the bulk of us already know that the slightest lag will mess up anyone’s execution. It’s the same with SF4; screen lag will throw off the slightest execution (even with the leniency that SF4 offers in inputs).
No one’s saying that it’s not fun to play online. I don’t know where you got that from.
3S is definitely a game meant to be played offline… To me, even the slightest input delay is highly damaging to its intended gameplay. It’s a shame not everyone has offline competition, but acting like online is just as good is a bit ridiculous. It may be what’s available to you, so you have to deal with it, but it’s hardly optimal. Online is fun for casuals, but if you want to really get better at 3S and reach the higher levels of the game, it’s not gonna work, period. Yes, Kuroda and KO and who-have-you play on GGPO sometimes, but do you think they got where they are at the game by facing online competition? lol
It’s not bad when you’re playing US/CA, or US/US. I don’t know where you get your bullshit from. As if I would go to Vegas just to play you… If you both don’t have a bad connection, it can feel like an offline match all the time. Not everyone had the luxury to walk to their arcade, nor do they have the time to get there ie 40 min drive. Online is a great alternative. The 3S isn’t very big, and it’s a gamble just going to my local arcade because SF4 is the new shit.
I don’t understand, you talk a big game, and I’m challenging you just for some fun games, and you decline. These matches won’t mean nothing win, or lose, but they will surely tell you how the other player is. Just say you don’t want to play me, that’s all.
Who said I didn’t want to play you? I do, but not in a setting where the slightest bit of lag actually throws off my execution. But I want to play you without any excuses. Where there aren’t any variables that truly contribute to the match’s results.
I’ve played online before, and I didn’t like it. I didn’t like how the smallest bit of lag meant I couldn’t properly punish Kens who spammed jab DP. Plus, I’ve played U.S. to U.S. before. I’ve played players in CA before as well, and I’ve still had the same results. Lag affects everything. The tiniest bit means worlds in 3S.
Beyond that, I’m nowhere near talking big. I say what I can because it’s legit, and I know tons that would agree with me.
And even beyond that, you online kids are spoiled with your “Hurr durr durr I have online why should I have to leave the comfort of my own home to play” mentality. Even those guys that you mentioned that play online (Tenren, Shinshay, etc.) have all ventured out to play. Tenren’s even come out to tournaments offline that we’ve held.
Convenience? I travel 40 minutes every time I want to play, because that’s what I’m willing to do to play the game. I do it for the community and for the game itself. I understand that some people can’t make that venture out, but at the same time, some find ways to do it, because they just love the game that damn much. I play 3rd Strike at the arcade I normally go to (hint hint: It’s not Denjin) even though it’s known widely for SF4. Hell, I run tournaments there with fellow 3rd Strike players (and even some of the SF4 heads come out).
You’ve really lost your point in all this. First, you say that you don’t care. Now, you’re calling me out, which means you obviously do care. I say, again, play me in the way where there are no variables, where there are no excuses. If I played online, it definitely wouldn’t be the same as if I were playing offline.
Yes, I will travel all the way to California just to play you. Excellent. Also, did I not say I go to the arcade? I just don’t go every week because the scene is into SF4, which I am not really into.
I agree with you that some online play is crap with input lag, and what not, but I’m assuming you have a good connection. We could play fine. I play Shinshay all the time, and it’s fine. I’m pretty sure that one little input lag that you’re talking about wouldn’t cost you the match, and even if it did, it would be for FUN. Again, stop taking shit seriously, you’re not going to win $348340984 for playing online lol.
Am I supposed to ignore such long posts, and say I don’t care? Maybe if you typed some trivial bullshit then I wouldn’t bother replying to you. But no, I don’t ignore long typed posts that are for myself.
This whole thread got into a huge fiasco because I said Yun does not take skill to use, and I stand by my point. It’s fine if you don’t share my opinion, but you don’t have to be a dick about it, and call me a troll because we have different opinions. The one guy in this thread said Remy doesn’t take skill, do I blast him? No, I don’t because it’s his opinion, and I respect it. I’m 100% sure there are many that agree with him, and many that don’t. Then the Denjin camp all circle jerked to attack me because of my Yun statement. None of you can take an opinion. Calling me a troll is a cop out, and makes you look like an idiot, period.
BTW, I didn’t mean any of my harsh comments about your Alex, I’m pretty sure you’re damn good. I just wanted to rile you up like the others because if you are being a dick towards me, I’ll be a dick towards you.
Somewhat unrelated to the discussion at hand, but input lag is a gigantic deal. Especially with 2DF. 2DF’s P2P matchmaking system has input delay “by default” even if you were to play over a network. This is very harmful with 3S. You should at least have the decency of challenging people for 3S over GGPO instead of 2DF, lol
Example of things that are fucked online:
Red parrying the second/last hit of shoto cr. lp,lk,lp, admittedly I only manage it offline 1/5 (arbitrary number) of the time, but online it’s more like 1/20 of the time
With Elena, cr.MP xx EX qcb+K, hcf+K (crosses over), dp+K - The timing for the hcf+K is dodgy as fuck online, I mess up a semi-essential combo that I pull off nearly 100% of the time offline, and Elena fucking needs alls the damage she can get off landed BnBs
Charge partitioning feels funny, especially if you’re used to making the first charge a near complete one before doing dash, charging what little is left of the move and doing it as soon as you’re off the dash (as opposed to splitting the charges more evenly). The input delay more often than not fucks up the timing by making you have to wait a little extra “second” (actually a lot less, but you get what I mean) before finishing your move. This is the worst fucking thing ever, if you’re used to offline, you have to keep reminding yourself to delay your moves a little bit
Kara anything is made even harder online. I resort to not kara-DPing with Ken because it’s just too unreliable online. I’m doing the exact same motion I do offline and it refuses to come out because of input delay and its variability. Makoto’s Kara-SA1, which is easy as pie to pull off offline, will also randomly refuse to work
Links of all kind are made more difficult, especially if you’re used to offline timing. This is not too big an issue for super links (since you can drum), but a massive one for normal/special move links
Listen, not wanting to play online is not “taking the game too seriously”. Or caring too much about losing (I speak for myself only, of course) I could probably have fun playing 3S with pad. It’s about not wanting to play a more random, unstable and crappified version of the game you love.
Actually, Kara, and charge partitioning are both fine online. Online is really only bad when you’re trying to parry, but that’s almost a non-issue when playing someone with a good connection. You must have a really bad connection, or you’re playing people with a bad connection. I don’t have these problems you’re complaining about.
What’s your tag on 2DF? We might have played before.
Well, this all sorta started with a fairly mean comment towards all of us about playing Alex…
You can keep your opinion, and what not, but be prepared to defend it. Especially against the general standard. And be prepared to defend it with examples. Evidence. Etc.
One of the reasons why I don’t play online is that it won’t help me get better in the long run. I’m not playing the game 100%, so as a result, I can’t get better at the game 100%. I’ll venture on and do something stupid (ex. when I played on XBox Live as a joke, I’d kneedrop with Urien all day). I can have fun with the game as well.
