Wow, that’s news to me about it being discontinued. I just placed an order for the G2400WD, which is the same panel as the v2400w but with the stand in the middle instead of off to the side. So, if they’ve discontinued these, there’s no indication on their own website. However, the v2400w is backordered, so maybe they really aren’t getting any more in. I’m sure you could still get it somewhere else.
Actually, after I placed my order for the G2400WD, it said backordered on mine too (even though it said “in stock” when I ordered it). I hope they haven’t stopped selling both of them.
BenQ has a couple of new monitors, that are 16:9 instead of 16:10, that could be replacing the others. These seem to be just like the v2400w otherwise, with little to no lag. I thought about getting one, but I decided that 16:10 would be better for computer use like web browsing. If I was using a monitor exclusively for games/movies, I’d get 16:9.
Awesome, I am going to order a G2400WD from newegg as soon as I get home. It’s $425 with tax and shipping included. I don’t want to risk going through BenQ again to order this. Thanks again for pointing this monitor out for me:woot:
That’s cool. I might have actually been wrong about the backorder. I went back to my order and I noticed there’s a column for backorder, but it’s just a placeholder along with a shipped column (to let you know what has shipped and what is backordered). It’s possible that I just saw the word backordered and assumed that’s what happened.
I ordered from BenQ because I hear they have a great return policy, in case of dead pixels. Newegg supposedly won’t let you return for that.
I’ve just had a pretty bad experience with ordering from BenQ, they kept my order for the V2400W for a week before they told me that they had canceled it.
It took me another hour on the phone to get them to tell me that they had discontinued the product.
I don’t want to order it from BenQ because they may have already canceled the whole family of monitors that use that same screen.
Newegg has an 8 dead pixel policy, I know it’s bad, but considering that BenQ has a ZERO dead pixel policy, I think they’re pretty thorough at when inspecting them at the factory. I don’t think dead pixels will be an issue, they weren’t mentioned once in the 71 reviews for the G2400WD on newegg, seems pretty promising.
Anyway, we’ll see what happens…I hope BenQ doesn’t cancel your order
I know that people like their Samsung’s, but it should be noted that without game mode on, there is ~50ms lag. With game mode on, there is a ~30ms lag.
well, according to anandtech.com
The Samsung 2493HM and Gateway FHD2400 are currently two of the best monitors for gamers
while the FHD2400 was tested with 1 ms lag according to their web-site, I am not too sure how will the monitor perform after you hook them op to your console or computer,
but again, so far, Andantech is the best monitor review site I have ever seem, so their opinions might worth some effort to look into
Ho snap, I ordered the G2400WD and got it in last week. I love it.
BenQ called me back and told me that they hadn’t canceled my last LCD, they just had an issue with their online ordering. They need to get that shit straightened out.
And crap, I paid $425 for the G2400WD from newegg.
Oh well, it happens to everyone…
