I know a lot of people are CE Labs splitter but I’m wondering if anyone has found a better product. What is considered the best HDMI splitter for running split screen setups?
bump
I use these and they are great. They have a power supply so no signal quality is lost.
Amazon.com: ViewHD 4 Port HDMI 1x4 Powered Splitter Ver 1.3 Certified for Full HD 1080P with Deep Color & HD Audio: Electronics
Amazon.com: ViewHD 2 Port HDMI 1x2 Powered Splitter Ver 1.3 Certified for Full?
How’s that work in terms of input lag?
yep I have these and there’s no input lag…
That’s fantastic I planned on getting an HDTV (pending on some info I’ve yet to receive) and this would be the perfect accessory.
Quick question: I want to use my hdmi tv as a monitor for my pc. Would this be sufficient to do so?
Also, is there anyplace offline that would sell what I need for around this price? I called radio shack and they want to charge me $50 for one.
reviving this old-ish thread as it’s relevant to my interests.
I just got an alienware aw2210 monitor and it works great. problem is, my PS3 only has one hdmi output. So I’m in the market for a 1-in/2-out splitter that will allow me to play on my new monitor and my hdtv without having to swap cables all the time.
looking up amazon.co.uk (since I live in Europe and would rather not wait for overseas delivery) I found these two:
Neet - 2 Way HDMI SPLITTER BOX 1x2 Port - Active: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
ClimaxDigital 1080P 1 Input 2 Output 2 Way HDMI: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
both sound great, only problem is they have this “synchronizer/amplifier” thing I’m not completely sure of. by comparison, this one that was suggested in this thread doesn’t. Bottom line, I just wanna be sure I’m not wasting money on something that’s liable to cause more video lag. So would either of the above do? Cheers.
great thread, ive been wanting a hdmi port multiplier for a long time since my monitor only has 1, but i was too lazy to find one. looking at the links here i was able to find a decent 5 port hdmi switch under related products for cheap:
Amazon.com: ViewHD Premium Five Port HDMI 5x1 Powered Switch Ver 1.3 Certified for Full HD 1080P (The Latest & The Best): Electronics for around $30
here are the tech specs in case anyone else has use for something like this:

now i can finally get my 360 off of the composite. kinda the opposite of what the thread is talking about it, but it helped me none the less so thanx
bumpity bump?
i want to know if any of you guys have tried this switch from monoprice
particularly if it creates input lag
i just want my ps3 to switch between my big tv and asus evo monitor depending on what game in playing
thanks
I have this one. I’ve cracked it open and all it is is a big switch that switches all the pins from one hdmi port to the other, there’s no circuitry in it. There should be no lag. I haven’t noticed any anyway.
It doesn’t do what you want though, it switches between 2 inputs to 1 output. BUT, if you crack it open, flip around a couple of diodes, it’ll work the way you want.
Just ordered this eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
Along with the Evo monitor, so that I can switch between hd tv and monitor depending on the game I am playing, if there is even slight lag i’ll let you guys know.
Sorry to bump.
Has anybody used the products from this website?
Video Splitter, Distribution Amplifier or Video Splitter?- SmartVM
Are they any good? They have composite and component splitters, which is nice. Gonna do a PS2 head to head set-up with 2 tv’s, hehe.
with one of these and another monitor it would make for a quick and easy head to head set-up. I might do this.
Absolutely zero quality loss and couldn’t feel any lag at all, but I still have to do a proper lag test, will post results later but so far it’s looking pretty good.
Bump,
I’m really looking to buying this.
any update?
Thanks for the update red.
Ver, check red’s post.
this should work for you
HDMI Splitter - HDMI Male to HDMI Female X 2 - eBay (item 260563932599 end time Nov-30-10 23:27:15 PST)
just ordered one so I can split the signal from my xbox to big tv and the monitor in my cabinet. doubt you can display both at the same time(its not a powered splitter). but I wont be doing that anyway.
