3rd Strike is overrated. 
Sure it’s a good game and all, but there are things that could’ve been done better.
-SF4: Honestly, it wasn’t truly groundbreaking. It was just the “Oh shit a new SF” that made it so big.
-MvC3: Gods no. Way too lazily taped together to even be the best anime fighter on 360, let alone this generation.
-MK9: See SF4.
-TTT2: Mechanically, I consider it to be the best this generation, and most likely tied with SC2 for best 3D fighter, but the distinction of being a 3D fighter makes it a bit of a grey area on SRK
-GGXXAC+R: My personal vote for best if it is actually considered part of this generation.
-Skullgirls: Definitely notable, but it honestly doesn’t speak out to any particular segment of the FGC, imo. If the 3D, SF, Anime, Mahvel, and SNK crowds are happy, who is going to play Skullgirls?
-KOF13: Online aside, I find it a bit too strong on the matter of anchor HD combos.
Honestly though, SF2 might not have even been the best of its generation. If we can’t even reach a consensus on old games, then how are ever going to agree on the new ones?

BlazBlue: Chronophantasma.
Every single character has a unique and interesting moveset and playstyle, it has a smartly-designed battle system, and it has everything that players have been asking for in their fighters and more (detailed tutorial, extensive story mode, well-stocked training mode options, several auxiliary just-for-fun modes, playable boss characters, and other bonus content).
Most of this has been present in the series for years, and yet somehow it falls under the radars of even FGC members.

ttt2. great game as per the usual with tekken. even as they change over time, tekken has always stayed a fairly solid series, not straying way to into the realm of ridiculousness. tekken 5 and vanilla 6 were the most ridiculous, but its not like you could be a complete goober and take out legit tekken vets (most american tekken vets do not count. they are like still leagues below asian tekken vets), but if you were good, shit was silly.
kof13. regardless of what people say, and how much they love kof98um and 2k2um (mostly just kof98 and 2k2, because those are available via ggpo, and no one is actually playing any of the UM versions of those games for real for real), this is still a super solid game, better then 90 percent of its competition out there. if you cannot see that, or know that from playing it, then youre probably either blind, or not that good at the game, so you complain about hd shit, ex moves, and big damaging combos as if its some type of xfactor that people have access to every round to do 80 percent damage in every round. its not like that at all, and the mechanics were implemented fairly well imo. you have never seen a top 8 kof 13 that was completely riddled with stupid shit, ever. go back to playing that poor peoples kof on ggpo and thinking theyre the greatest kof’s ever.
ggac+r. need anything be said. if youre not learning this game, and or playing it right now (well if you can), then you are missing out. at the very least practice and learn ggac until you get your patch ps3 users.

persona 4. even though players have been critical of certain aspects of the game, it has proven to constantly be a hype game to watch, its fun to play, and almost every character regardless of so called tier has represented in top 8, in and outside of japan.

mvc3. a beta for umvc3 that we all bought like a bunch of assholes, when we shoulda known capcom was gonna scam us with another version. i just didnt think we would get that announcement 3 months after the first fucking game came out, and get an entirely new game 8 months later. 
umvc3. fun game to play like vanilla, but now better, oh wait, well not better, actually maybe worse, yeah, worse. both mvc3 and umvc3 are great games with horrifyingly bad mechanics implemented. games beautiful, character normals, specials, and supers were pretty well thought out and done great, with just enough cheapness, but not super crazy. outside of those great things the game falls apart quickly and becomes just fucking stupid due to ridiculous game mechanics. there are more problems then just xf and tac’s, but its amazing how those two things are really that bad that they can make the whole experience go from “this games too good”, “i love some marvel”, to “jesus fucking christ this game is dumb as shit”, and to be honest, i can accept the problems outside of tac and xf, but those two just are a super ugggggh factor.
all of sf4. i mean i guess the game may be solid, but i mean, the community just let that bar get set way low for sf4 for some reason. are we really gonna give props to this pile of shit that is on its 5th revision, and now adding red parries, double ultras, and whatever the next major mechanic change is. just throw this series in the trash already please.
