Best fighters on the Dreamcast?

I own DC, PS2, and Xbox version of CVS2. Dreamcast is the worst looking version if you have a high-end TV setup.

for real man? i seen the ps2 version on component and the characters looked DISGUSTING (backgrounds pretty though)…the xbox one looks pretty good i must admit but man i gotta say the DC version on VGA looks a million times better than the ps2 version on component

still pixilated…but not as badly

DC I like 3rd Strike, KoF 2k2, if your lucky enough to even find it. GGx, MvC2, CvS1/2,

dunno, I like the DC version of CvS2 personally, Xbox and GC vers the sprites are hella pixilated, SF2 looks like god ;p j/k. but yeah DC version I think is better

CVS2 looks like shit period. 3s on DC is ass as well. A3 has nice bonus features, more than any other release I believe. KOF 2k2 and 98 were both on DC, I wouldn’t miss those. But honestly, every single fighting game you need to play is on the DC. If it’s not, it’s easily emulated. T3 on DC is hella worthwhile.

Hrm… my list consists of:

MVC2
MVC
Project Justice
Power Stone 2 (Had a lot of fun with this)
TECH ROMANCER (LOVE THIS GAME)
KOF series on the Dreamcast
DOA 2 (Not really a fan of this but it was my favorite of the series)

Hey I remember Fighting Vipers and Virtual On for the Saturn, are the sequels any
good?

A3…

Arcade > PSX > DC

There’s been a billion discussions.

Well, I have the PS version, so I’ll pass on the DC version.

Anyways, how’s my list look so far?

CvS2
MvC2
KOFevo
KOFDM1999
FV2
VOOT
Jojo’s

Any additions/changes I should make before I hunt these down?

Moeru! Justice Gakuen!

Dreamcast is the best for fighting games ofcourse. Here’s my list:

KOF '98 (Dreammatch 1999)
KOF '99
KOF 2000
KOF 2001
KOF 2002
Fatal Fury (Garou): Mark of the Wolves
Guilty Gear X
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike
Capcom vs. SNK
Capcom vs. SNK 2
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Rival Schools 2 (Project Justice)
Dead or Alive 2
Virtua Fighter 3 tb
Soul Calibur
Power Stone 2

Other Dreamcast must-have games:

Cosmic Smash
Fire Pro-Wrestling D
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2
Phantasy Star Online

Dreamcast frickin’ rules!

MVC…Granted, we play MvC2 all the time, but MVC for the dreamcast has the added ability to have 4 humans playing at once, which is crazy fun.

Shit, I didn’t know that. I’ll have to pick that up then.

I’m gonna list just the DC exclusives that are good:

JoJo’s Adventure
Street Fighter 3 NG and SI
PowerStone
PowerStone 2
Soul Calibur
Virtua Fighter 3
Fighting Vipers 2
Project Justice
Marvel Vs. Capcom
Tech Romancer
Plasma Sword
Capcom SNK Pro

Super Street Fighter 2 X…just because.

This might sound dumb…but is it worth getting if I already own SFAC for the Xbox?

Here’s my list:

Soul Calibur (I still think this is the best in the series)
Virtua Fighter 3tb
Plasma Sword
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Last Blade 2
Garou Marl of the Wolves
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Power Stone

I really need to get more DC fighting games.

DOA 2 LE is also a gem. Tag Team Galore!

Okay, well I managed to track down and buy the following titles so far: Power Stone 2, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs SNK2 and KOF1999dm. I’m still open for suggestions. I’m still thinking on the following, but I’m not sure if they are worth my money yet, for one reason or the other: VOOT, FV2, Jojo’s, SF3di.

VOOT is very playable w/ the standard controller.

Basically, what it comes down to is this:
If your looking for a game to have a lot of fun with that is complex yet playable, get VOOT (especially if your a fan of giant robots, this is a must buy).

If your a die-hard vet of the arcades, then you might want to pass. If you have access to an arcade unit you may feel that the console version is a waste of time. Still, the arcade unit is so rare that always consider the home version a good investment.

As I said before VOOT w/ a standard controller is a great game. It’s just that the sticks make it nearly gaming perfection. I generally say go for it.

A few people have mentioned it already, but I’d just like to add emphasis:
Tech Romancer is a LOT of fun.
It offer a good single player game w/ loads of replay value.
Even better, the character designs are very diverse, which makes for great verses with a friend. This is a pretty underated game that I wish more people knew about. Once again, if you like giant robots (I know, I know, not everyone does) then this is a must buy. Might be kinda’ hard to find though.

LB2, MOTW and all KOF except 2000 are “bad” ports running about 15% slower than they ought to, and when not lagging, don’t go for them except for collection. THIS IS NO BS, the games are F… SLOW !

awesome games (and about perfect ports) on DC include
MvC2
CvS2
Jojo (if you like Jojo that is)
Rival Schools 2 (as broken as on arcade, but helluva game I say! The japanese version is better than the others though)

The SF alpha 3 saiko dojo isn’t bad at all, different from the CPS2, but not shittty like the PS version, good to have for fun imho

If you have the SF anninversary on box, SFIIX for DC is kinda useless

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 without a doubt in my mind.
