I was surprised that you played Simon twice. Most tournaments don’t allow for double jep so I think you should’ve played me and kevin shouldve played simon. Not that I’m complaining cuz then I wouldn’t have realized something I forgot that made me so good back in the day.

Like my second match against Simon. It feel so much better about it than I do about the first, 'cause, I feel like I played it a lot more solidly. I do feel kinda bad about setting myself up for a perfect and then getting blown up by level 3 X-Factor Wesker though. Shouts out to being unable to block.
I watched most of your matches when I wsn’t playing but I missed your second set against simon. The first set you should’ve had him though. I didn’t want to have to play you because I’ve never fought a scooby that used the sword so I wasn’t sure how to punish with she hulk.

I can sum my trip up as such: I travelled six hours to get bodied and didn’t even get a lousy t-shirt. Lol, it was a great time this weekend.

Thanks to all the people I played in casuals in MK, where I could occasionally win a game. I’m still disappointed with how god awful I played against Simon’s Sub-Zero. Next time I’ll have a real Kano to play, which means more balls to the face.
Thanks to everyone who attended. It was alot of fun. Ethan will post results along with a wrap up of the weekend soon. For those who attended both nights, which layout did you prefer? The tables along the walls like the first night, or the tables arranged horizontally like the 2nd night? We are still trying to find the ideal set up and it would be great to get some community feedback.
P.S. Kevin doesn’t seem to like drunk Aaron but it was funny watching them interact. Also Jetay putting Aaron down like a child was also entertaining.
I didn’t actually play my actual teams that day cause I was having tons of trouble with them in casuals. I didn’t at all feel confident in my ability to play anyone other than my Phoenix team that day. I think I would have done worse.
Also, shout outs to Slash for baby sitting me on commentary for half the tourny. I’m surprised he put up with me.

That was an epic weekend, thanks everyone for supporting this thing. Both days were great, highest turn out of a Portland tourney in some time. The Grand Opening was a party straight up. We are really looking to promote this next step in Portland gaming and continue to expand not only the fighting game scene, but the local gaming scene in general. As it grows, we plan for Best Bout to evolve as well. Big shout out to all the regulars who have supported the cause over the years, and the new people looking to be a part of the community. Thanks to Cole, Mike, and the rest of Seattle for coming down. Shout out to my associates G Effect and Fatbear as well, it’s been work but also a lot of fun.
Also, now that we are passed the opening weekend, from here on out we are going to be promoting Evo training, starting with Throwdown Tuesday of course. We are going to sit down and chat with some of the other organizers to talk about implementing a few things. Feel free to contact us with any ideas, I definitely want to move forward with this as a community effort. Thanks to Ray for the input so far, appreciate the advice.
