Guys elbow drop can be beat or trade with C.fierce. Be careful though to watch your spacing because it could whiff. If you time it right you will be safe but will need to block, even if it whiffs. Focus helps you allot against guy, and his air shenanigans, but on the ground he has tools to shit it down so you can’t abuse it. Keep your spacing on him, bait EX tatsus, and don’t let him corner you.

Neutral jump fierce vs lariat is a very old gimmick and is very risky. if gief does nothing he can wait for you to land and get guaranteed punish with SPD. I only use it against giefs who doesn’t know how to punish
Now I could be wrong here, but as I understand it, he can’t punish with SPD if you are not right up on him, as when you do the neutral jump to j.fierce, you can’t be at zero distance anyway, least you eat lariat, which the Gief can perform on reaction. No reason why the couldn’t just SPD you either as you land.
However, if you are standing back someone, about the distance you could scissor him and on block, not get grabbed, I don’t see how you could get SPD’d at that range. Now maybe I am wrong here, and that is punishable, but I actually was in a tournament (Winter Brawl), this past winter (hence the name), and actually used that on a Gief a few times in a row on wakeup because he chose U1. Now maybe he is unaware of what you are saying, but the real question is then, is Gief out of range if you stand back somewhat, because I wasn’t saying to be at point blank distance when jumping for that’s already punishable by lariat anyway?
How many match ups do you all use Ultra 2 or double Ultra?
@SUPARNOVAX I actually don’t use U2 at all. It might have it’s uses, but why would I bother when I get so much more damage on U2.
