You can s.hk him out of his wall dive if you do it as soon as he touches the wall. If you’re playing online and you’re not sure whether to tech or block then you can always ex pc out of it, you’ll beat both of his options, also it’s not that solid of a mixup since he’ll eat a full punish if you block the dp, just try to read the player and guess based on whether he’s random or consistent.
Ex pc beats all wall dives if you delay it a tiny bit.
Pick U1 too. If they’re up on the wall and flashing yellow that’s a free U1.
Swing roundhouse like a bastard in the neutral game too. Adons love jumping into jaguar kick and that’s a great tool to shut that down.
The memory feature in training mode is a blessing when it comes to practicing the Adon matchup, abuse that shit.
Is this safe jump setup old or am I just out of the loop? After a forward throw in the corner, dash forward, nj and delay a hk, I tried it out in training and it worked everytime https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X8cM5boYGM&feature=youtu.be
Some updated Gouken matchup for anyone interested since this one hasn’t been touched in a while.
There’s hardly any point in using U2 anymore since it has to be done on read and not reaction because of Goukens fireballs getting buffed.
Unblockable setups are moot because of delayed wakeup and parry, though if you can train him to parry on wakeup then you can always go for a throw and repeat.
Don’t do what I did and try to FT him with blockstrings that hit high because they’re easy to parry on reaction.
AA his flip with s.hk is bad, use ex pc to get out of pressure.
His flip kick has a 4 frame recovery window after landing so it can be punished by a lk - SK if it whiffs.
Because of his fireballs being on par with Guile’s now you’re gonna have to take your time, if you focus dash too close he can punish you with st.hp or any other normal, if you jump at a perfect angle however then you can get in for free without having to worry about getting tatsumaki’d.
He’s free to cross-up PC without meter.
That’s about it, you have to stay on top of him and pressure him on wakeup. Bait his ex parry on wakeup and watch out if he was meter because his ex tatsu is dangerous in ultra.
How do you deal with Guiles and Dee Jays who do nothing but back up and shoot fireballs?
Let 'em walk themselves to the corner and you’ll have better advantage, your standing pokes outdamage all of their projectiles (But be wary of their own standing normals). If you hold longer than level 2 focus they will often jump backwards into j.mp, j.mp Ultra as well.
You have to make your way in slowly. Even though it’s tempting to focus through his sonic booms (Assuming that you’re outside the range for his normals) sometimes it’s better to just block them and walk forward until you’re in range to jump in and punish him pre-emptively. Some Bison players stress too much when fighting Guile and just try to go HAM until they get a knockdown at which point they’re sitting on 40% health. In the second round it’s easier since you’ll probably be sitting on some meter so you have ex scissors at your disposal, if you catch him once with a ex sk he might be too scared to abuse his sonic booms. You can apply this to Dee Jay aswell since he’s free to ex sk in case he’d try to zone you out.
Thanks for the information!
If it’s alright for me to ask another question, how do you counter people constantly jumping in your face? I try to use st. roundhouse but it either trades or gets stuffed all together.
st. roundhouse if they’re far away, it does work if they’re relatively close too but the risk/reward for whiffing is sometimes not worth it. If they’re too close for st. rh then you could always do cr. fierce instead, it usually trades but it’ll be in your favor in most cases. close st. fierce ‘does’ work but it’s hard to hit since it only comes out at a certain distance so I’d try it out in training mode just to be sure (It’s best against cross-ups). Instant Hell Attack if you can read the jump.
Bison’s AA game is pretty ass but positioning is key. If you take the zangief matchup which is all about footsies and keeping him out then I usually try to position myself so that I can hit the tip of the st. rh, it usually never trades that way. Cr. Fierce is also really good for short jumps or when people jump in at you from awkward angles, you should try it out in training mode.
Instant jb. fierce or nj. roundhouse are both solid options for people who try to cross you up or jump in at you from short distances but if you whiff these then you’ll get punished pretty heavily.
How do you guys deal with Yun? Once he gets in it feels like I have to wait for gaps in his blockstrings to ex pc out of his pressure.
EX PC, or sometimes s.lk or s.hk if he gives you enough room. Also backdash at times as well works, or ex or normal deviles reverse depending. It’s just an example of how this game was made stupid.
Having been playing much SF lately but got on this weekend and man I was getting wrecked smh.
Can anyone tell me how do I deal with hakan?
Hakan is unbeatable lol.
You have to make sure he has no oil, otherwise he’s broken.
Switch character.
Lol ^
Man when he’s not oil I can do fairly good against him with bisons simple game plan but if he get the knock down with oil right after it’s trouble trouble
And that move Idk the name he kinda runs in place and can grab you smh like exogen said #Broken
Yeah, you are talking about his Ex command grab. It’s utter BS.
I choose u2 in the hakan match to punish ex oil n use s mk s HK to the fullest but his oil mixups after knockdown is hard to get away from
Hey guys…I m struggling alot against zangief USF4 1.04 , does anyone knows how is the match ups in this version of the game? I used to know how to deal with the match up against him from vanilla to AE12, but I feel so much have changed now that I m getting lost sometimes because Certain moves were punishable before but now it’s much harder to punish …for example his wiffed Lariat was easier to punish before but now I cant beat that shit clean without getting so frustrated
Also I have been playing against an Elena player alot … I feel like this match is one of the worse match up for bison, ofcourse after Guile’s , any tips on how to deal with Her BS up close or in general ?
And Vs Rolento match up, man I knew how to deal with him before the latest update …they buffed his shit really good now, i feel like all my new and old knowledge of the match Ups went down to the drain…
anyways, can anyone give me some advice and thier personal opinion around these matchs ?
If Gief does not have U2, you can abuse him with neutral jump fierce. It snuffs lariat as long as it is not point blank distance. You can combo off of it. Also, back throw into cross up jumping roundhouse, but watch for DWU. If he lariats on the ground, c.fierce beats it clean. s.fierce also, but not as fast. use pokes to keep him back. In close, don’t be afraid to grab his dumb ass right out of EX green palm. If you think he will SPD spam neutral jump, and if he tries to lariat you, fierce and punish with combo. Get the life lead and keep him back with footsies.
