"BEST BIPSON!" - Dictator Match-Ups

I looked at the hitbox for Cody’s b.mp. His entire arm is freaking invulnerable.

Seriously wtf is that?

b+mp looks like it could make guile’s c.fp look like a cake walk…

edit:found the answers

Anybody find Ibuki and Deejay cross up/vortex attempts difficult to answer without meter?

Sagat is so much less threatening now. Bison Sagat 5-5? Any thoughts on how drastic this match changed from a) damage tweaks b) a new ultra for Bison? Kim1234?

Thoughts on Guy and Juri match ups against Bison?

Adding to El Fuerte Matchup

Last night I played a good Fuerte. Devil Reverse escapes can be punished by his ultra 2. I’m not sure if I just missed the correct distance, I was trying to get out of his vortex as he was reading my teleports at match 2 and 3. Also, ex psycho crusher will not be hit by his ultra 2.

Anyone got any new stuff on the Chun matchups. I feel frustrated trying to get in with her backdash and pokes. They block my s.HK and s.MK and stuff l.SK with jab spamming up close. Also my l.SK was punished by a super. I’m sure I hit a button, but I couldn’t remember. I’m sure I hit a button to continue the poke and got hit the ultra, I just didn’t see my c.mk come out.

if you can throw chun, gg if you play it smart from there on out. she can’t exsbk your safe jumps and just literally has to sit there and take the pressure. i play the match similar to the rufus matchup although that might sound weird. basically bison > rufus and chun without meter. it’s just a totally different matchup when they are meterless. i try and get the first round off with a quick life lead and pursue the win through straight up smart pressure. not mindless rush down but working for a knockdown and exploiting it as much as you can while making sure you keep them off you. once they do have meter you just gotta play it a bit differently. that jab spam sucks i know what you mean. still not sure on the strategy to deal with outpoking chun because its just not viable. my ultimate goal is to get her into the corner and get her to waste meter if she has it. thats bout all i can say on that.

the biggest problem i’ve encountered so far was a gdly cammy/rose player. she/he was sweeping the floor with everyone in endless battle and we had some good ryus, bisons and balrogs in there. the only person to end this rose/cammy’s reign of terror was a fucking hakan player. goddamn rose is brutal. she has such a badass slide and her new ultra is crazy good. shit’s tough and i never encounter a good rose so it’s like wtf time when i do.

I haven’t seen any good Sagats yet, so it’s hard to say. The only ones I’ve fought are holdovers from Vanilla who think jump-back and uppercut spam can still win matches. I really think dedicated Sagat players who have gone to the lab will be a significant threat. I’m going to go out on a limb and say 5.5-4.5 only because he can still zone just as well as he used to.

Guy: One of the few matchups where Ultra I is usefull. You can U1 his bushin flip (or whatever it’s called) on reaction. Blocked tatsu is a free ultra. And I haven’t tested this (cookies and internets if someone tests this before I get home), but I’m pretty sure that if he does his shoulder move in a blockstring that’s free ultra, too. As long as you can keep yourself out of the corner he’s not a huge threat.

Juri: I haven’t figured this one out yet, she has some pretty unique pressure options with her fireballs and dive kicks. She’s free on wakeup without meter… if she does have a stock EX Pinwheel will rape you, but you can probably safejump it. Bait her into wasting meter and you’re golden.

Dee Jay

According to sfframedata.com, Dee Jay’s fireball takes only 2 frames longer than Guile’s to throw and recover (technically it recovers a tad faster). The EX version is much slower than the frame data makes it seem because he throws 2 of them. If you’re gonna punish, basically you have to punish the EX one.

His c. jab, cl. short and cl. forward are all +3 on block so be wary about frame traps and being counter hit.

He has poor wake up options because the jacknife whiffs on a crouching bison. After a knockdown feel free to stick out the c. short for the SK pressure. If he has Climax Beat (Ultra II) just jump to the other side to break his charge and continue.

Edit:
And yes…the Dee Jay vortex is terribly good and annoying. The thing to do is block and see if he continues with the attack string. His crouching forward (which causes the knockdown) is -5 on block so work on that timing and slip in a c. short to interrupt and go on the offensive.

hehehehe yeah, but the timing is a little hard to get used to.
Mind you, cody can also just slide out from under you as you HS him as well, so it’s just better to beware when and how you HS or emtpy DR Cody.

PP limits his late round zoning options tremendously.

Deejay also has a 50f charge for his air slasher like Guile’s sonic boom. But flash kicks are not 50f charge, they’re still 55f apparently.

WTF! I didn’t know that!

He can combo Ultra II off of an anti air slide…so jumping the fire ball from certain ranges could get you ultraed…I haven’t seen anyone do this trap specifically but it seems like it would work (especially with Bison’s long air time)

In SSF4, Chun’s super when activated with mk hits on the first frame. Its one of the new buffs she got. It can punish rufus galactic punch, rose st lk on hit and many other things. If you have a 2 frame advantage it can be punished. Probably why you didnt see your mk come out cause its so fast it actually punished your lk sk recovery.

Seths new ultra can be slid into late, with no damage (just sucks you in), and you recover in time to punish him with whatever you want

Chun is serious stuff to play against. So I guess the idea is to get a lead and use corner pressure?

Also, for the Rufus match, how do you poke him out? Once he gets in, the dive kicks are hard to stop, especially when I don’t have meter.

s.LK will stuff up-close divekicks.

Dive kicks get stuffed by s lk. That drops him right in front of you. You can continue s lk, s lk, s hk to push him away and increase stun.
Don’t EX PC a rufus when he has you trapped. Dive kick beats it and drops you right in front of him. After a blocked ex pc he can dash and ultra you on recovery. Your better off blocking.

Apparently Ibuki can reversal ultra 1 and grab people that leaves them at -1f on block

Playing bison online is a nightmare… cant punish fireballs for shit with ultra 2.

Just prebuffer QCF’s when you’re fishing for the openings.

I’m finding more and more people seeing you pre-buffer the ultra and won’t throw out an fireball. In any case, it works out because now the fireball has been neutralilzed.
