Yeah for Jump ins I’d definetly go with EX PC but using HP has its good points as an escape on non jumping opponents. Thanks for that.
This might be hard to ask, but could someone making a really BIG list on taking advantage of the new pc?
I thought c lk had the same range as c mk now.
btw, i’m surprised this is not somewhere. i think for matchup data, something sort of specific to bison is that after a blocked sk and both of you at neutral (and you weren’t pushed out too far from the block), if you do a c.lk afterwards, some characters don’t have 3 frame jabs and so they will lose to your c.lk, and thus have no choice but to reversal you or backdash. some of them might be range dependent, like some characters have 3 frame moves but they can only be performed close.
ps. this is based entirely off frame data and probably some hitboxes will make this not work. i don’t have any sf right now so i can’t really test these, so please help me out if you see one that’s wrong. i will work on this in a few weeks if anyone cares when i get my sf back

Thanks man ! the frame data helps but do not forget to mention moves that may be slower then our 3 frame lk but happen to put characters in animation where the lk would whiff aka sagats st. mk will stuff out scissor trap thank god sagats dont do it.
or abels st. short where in order to continue your trap you have to do your st. short.
hey guys after a blocked lk sk against T.Hawk you aren’t safe from his ultra.
Do you mean distance wise? Because lk scissors is always safe if the 2nd hit connects.
Debatable if your in his grab range your going to get nailed if his command grab or ultra is immediate like Giefs.
Hah, I got raped by a pretty good vega player (highest ranked at ect :P) yesterday in a team tourney because I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why his jab would always beat my c.short even though the latter is one frame faster… until I figured out that the claw is a disjointed hitbox (read: doesn’t possess a hurtbox). I honestly find his jab more obnoxious than balrog’s ahah. In any case, against wall dives, jump back RH/Fierce usually does the trick. On the ground, I just work towards getting a knockdown and then just meaty/bait him to death if possible. I think the rest (read: shenanigans) just comes down to MU experience and not falling for too much BS. Come to think of it, I fight Vega the exact same way you fight a Fuerte, but at a slower pace.
I got 17th out of 97 (? or so ive been told) contestants. Lost my first game against an Abel… Last game, the guy had a sliver of health left, I had about 200. Both at each end of the screen pacing back and forth, he goes for an ex roll and I ex psycho’d on reaction thinking that he’d be forced to die from chip or at least, I would’ve gotten out of his vicinity… but he ex TTd as soon as he recovered from the roll and grabbed me out of psycho. Iirc, my body was fully horizontal; does its hit invul. properties allow it to eat through invincible moves as long as they’re grounded?
Anyways, went on to beat 4 other people before having to face the best player of our scene (chun player). Everyone knew of the outcome before the match even started as the guy literally never loses (unless Toronto’s in the picture!), but I still feel like shit for losing on the char select screen and admittedly not giving it my all.
I swore I would stop playing with Bison (or just pick up a secondary!) after my extremely poor showing in teams lol, but today I got endowed by some pixie dust or some shit, I have never been able to hold my composure in a tourney before; it felt really refreshing to be able to play at the best of my ability.
Also, lol at the # of Bisons and Roses that came out of the woodwork so suddenly.
jab, jab, mp is a favorite harassment poke of vega players if your in range of any of it you can’t even jump in between them without getting hit.
yeah like how you are safe against Geif’s command grabs, well aparntently not against T.Hawks ultra. Well I mean you can’t just sit their you have to jump out of the way instantly, if you just block it will catch you.
Any help vs Feilong Chiken wing? How Can I punish it?
Thx
Any help vs Feilong Chiken wing? How Can I punish it?
Thx
Aside from the LK CW (-4 block), you can’t guarantee a punish. MK is -2, HK and EX are safe. So … backdash, teleport, EX whatever.
Bento box is correct. The disjointed hitbox with the claw is exactly why vega is such a motherfucking pain in the ass for bison imo. Like, you cant do your pressure game up close when you know that jab nonsense will come out. And yea, i feel like i really need to utilize teleport in this matchup. Anymore help would be appreciated. I’m pretty comfortable against a good solid chunk of the cast and i’m feeling generous, so if anyone wants any help against any of the following chars, i’ll post a detailed list like i did with ryu:
Ken, Honda, Dudley, Akuma, Abel, bison mirror, sagat, cammy, fuerte, t. hawk, adon,
Those are the ones i’m hella solid on. If you guys want to trade notes with me, i’ll post up my shit on one of those chars, if you guys reciprocate with other chars.
What? If you can jump out of it, then it’s safe. Am I understanding you right? You’re saying that after lk sk, you can jump out before the Ultra grabs you right?
You pretty much don’t punish Chicken Wing. It’s a safe way for Fei to start a mixup, same way that short scissors works for Bison.
You can either stop Chicken Wing in midair by doing s.RH on reaction (I’ve heard s.short works too), or you can try and deal with his mixup afterwards.
Hawks ultra has the exact same startup as gief’s the problem is that jumping has startup frames well last I heard anyways, could be wrong so if he activates it as soon as he blocks scissors you will get hit. Your probably better off teleporting backwards.
I think you guys have a different understanding of “safe”. Bison has options of escaping if you guess right. If lk. scissors was unsafe, they would be able to punish you with ultra every time.
The jump startup frames are unthrowable, so you can jump gief and hawk’s ultras if you jump before the ultra flash. If you hold up, you will escape reversal ultra every time.
EX-PC is only invulnerable up until it goes active. If you were horizontal, you were no longer invulnerable, but he was just lucky to catch you with the throw.
I really got problems against a rushing Ken or Ryu player!
When I am trapped in the corner, it’s really difficult for me. I tried to teleport away, but I would have to press the button towards my enemy, which results in getting hit by poke attacks or the shoryuken
Maybe it’s because I play the Dictator very defensive…
