hmmm im not sure but i dont think we can PP on ibuki’s air kunais full screen. since she’s jumping back and your movement carries you forward, the screen camera moves and she gets that extra space to fly away from PP’s hitbox. not 100 percent sure if my timing was off or what but we both landed at the same time and im pretty certain that she landed clear of PP, even if only by a few steps.

^ ive done it full screen but it depends on when ibuki throws the kunia. I punished an ex kunia fullscreen but i did PP very early (soon as she jumped).

If she is at the end of the screen when she starts jumping, then no we can’t. But if she jumps into the the corner then we can.

u have to PP her kunai throw, not the jump (jumping is pp bait). She can hit you out of PP with kunais, or super, or avoid it.

I’m probably going to change characters at this rate. A ryu who keeps spamming jump back (at the start of the round), i anticipate it and i do PC, but no his Kick beats it clean. F**** bull shit, also, a ken who keeps jumping at me all the time, i do s.hk and it doesn’t even trade, it gets BEATEN by his kick, i’m tired of that shit. No anti air at all, fuck that.

Well i’m done with this shit. I’m going to main a character with a SHOOOOORYUKEN!!! and maybe some priority on his normals.

ryu’s back jHK tends to stuff PC if you dont time it well. I usually just let him do it, or ex PC him. As for people jumping in at you, try cHP (well timed), or neutral jMK, jHK, or jFP. Or just learn to block properly lol (try playing as Ibuki or Cody, and see if you still complain about AA options).

Yeah I think you should pick a different character if you walk into shoto j.HK so much.

I find that my alt characters (Ibuki and Cody) are great counter picks for when I am facing characters I have a problem with as Bison (ie Chun Li I use Cody, Guile I use Ibuki)

Serious issues with the gief matchup. I just played in a tournament tonight and got pretty free to a solid patient gief. Spacing and using round house just wasn’t working great, i kept getting counter hit with stand strong. Anyone have some insight as to how to play this matchup correctly? I hate not having a good gief in my area to play and learn from…quite frustrating.

Were you using s.mk as well? That tends to beat out a lot of Gief’s pokes too. I can understand where you are coming from, though. I have a gief in my scene and he’s pretty patient too, but being patient right back annoys the hell out of them. You might as well just stay seated for the whole match if he does nothing. Nah, I’m kidding, don’t do that, but do be a little more patient, if a Gief sits back, just kinda stay at mid range and do little things. If he can counter poke you even from there, well stand a bit further next round or something. Just gotta make that Gief irritated by your playstyle, then they’ll do something stupid…Hopefully

bingo. You HAVE to view gief matchups differently than any other. There is no problem with playing keep away, or holding on to a life lead, or shit like that when fighting a guy who can take off over half your health at the drop of a hat.

Just play it safe, and go for quick knock downs, then back off and make HIM try and get back to you.

Dhalsim is probably Bison’s worst unknown enemy.

I can’t do anything to them and I lose my patience. He has 3 very good anti-airs to beat my jump-ins every time. When I stay on the ground, he just zones the fuck out of me (which I know Dhalsim is supposed to do with being so long) but it gets really annoying. I can’t punish them, and it feels like I’m fighting a zangief with fireballs and long arms.

What do you guys do?

The matchup was pretty even in vanilla, but now Bison’s two new tools are really useful in this matchup, so it might get slightly in Bison’s favor.
btw it’s quite the opposite as fighting a zangief :slight_smile: you ARE the one trying to get in against a superior zoning opponent !

I noticed Valle’s Ryu was using cr. mp to stuff Rufus divekicks before he completely took off the ground…do we have anything like that? I feel like our cr. mp would come out too slow.

Is it just me or is Ryu’s U2 inconsistent in that sometimes he can land in front or in back, so its near impossible to punish with your ultra unless you want to chance it?

I played a Ruy today for about an hour and I kept baiting him to anti-air U2 me with my empty jump ins, only I start to buffer QCFx2 and he lands behind me, Im forced to link it up or get a free HK because I dont even have a charge at this point.

Im really starting to level up my game with Dic. I still feel a little uneasy about putting on the pressure when Im being pressured, I need to get out of that. My comfort zone is disrupted with they dont try to scram to the other side of the screen.

s.LK =/ You can cancel s.LK with Psycho and cross him up though. You have to use LP psycho so it’s sorta slow, not sure if it’s safe on block or not either.

Vega - How the fuck do you stop Izuna drop? It’s like that move is unescapeable, even when I try fucking teleporting. Are his claw dives punishable? I always asorb them but I might too slow to punish him afterwards with s.HK. And I tried to use slide to punish his little backflip, but the guy I was playing just did two or three consecutively and it just misses.

T. Hawk - I try to fight as if I am fighting Gief, but he’s a bit different. Can’t stay still or I get grabbed. Can’t jump around or I get hit by his DP move. Condor dive is punishible, but I don’t think anyone with half a brain is going to keep spamming it so how should go about this match up?

Seth - Dhalsim’s st.HP + Guile booms + Sureyoucan + Teleport + Wall dives = complete and utter homosexuality.

Balrog - Again, boring as hell. You can’t tick throw, cross-up, etc. because c.lp is like a “get out of jail free” poke. His jump ins are a pain as well.

Akuma - Holy shit, I fucking hate Akuma. Either they run from you like a bitch the entire time zoning air fireballs or 3-hit fireballs, or they try to rape you in a vortex. How you go about chasing them and/or espcaping their traps?

It seems the more I play this game, the more it stresses me out because I have to sit there and fucking chase someone down, but then I fuck everything up and can’t apply pressure right if I can ever get in. It’s so damn frustrating. I keep trying to lock people in a corner using scissors loop whenever I can get the chance, but I either mess up the execution (which is driving me insane), or I’ll get sweeped after the first SK gets blocked.
