I personally think Ono wanted the Brazilian Fighter to have electric powers , just so he could do Blanka Screenshot trolling … of course he did not foresee Famitsu’s blunder ruin his fun though … lol
Doesn’t Ono try to imply that Brazillian people are “full of energy” and have “electrifying personalities” hence the electric powers for both Blanka and Laura, both of whom are from Brazil?
Dunno about that , technically Ryu has electric(Denjin) on some of his moves , his personality isn’t exactly more eletricfying than Sean whose element is basketball.
This is a transcript of events captured from one of the security cameras in the SF5 development office yesterday.
Ono : STOP THE PRESSES !!!
Capcom Employee 1 : Ono-Sama !!! What’s the emergency ?!?!
Ono: Damn it all!! We’re not revealing Dhalsim anymore at the India Expo … those incompetent fools at Famitisu accidentally leaked Laura!!! That’s the last exclusive we give those idiots !!! They’ve made a fool of me and ruined my Blanka Bluff fun !!!
Capcom Employee 1: But boss …if not Dhalsim … then …
Ono : Shut Up !!! (Slap !!)
Capcom Employee 1: (Rubs face) Thank you sir ! ( Bows)
Ono: How much complete is the Blanka Day 1 DLC character ? …
Capcom Employee 1: But sir … that’s only 25 percent complete …( SLAP !!! )
Ono : Again ?!?!?
Capcom Employee 1: … Errr … We can get the character ready for the India Expo …
Capcom Employee 1: … Oh I get it … we put a turban on his character model ??? (BANG !!! )

Capcom Employee 2 : Ummm … gulp… Deputy Grand Master Ono-Sama what is your command ? (Bows)
Ono: … Nobody ruins my fun … I will have the last laugh … get the Blanka character ready for the Brazil Expo … 100% complete playable …
Capcom Employee 2: But Master Ono , with all due respect … the Brazil Expo is even earliar than … ( Gun reload noise) … errrr … I mean , consider it done sire …

Ono: Forgive Me, Sir !!! …I meant Supreme Grand Master Blanka-Figurine-Sama … (On Knees and Bows head)
Blanka Figurine : … haha … That’s better my Pawn… the road to my glorious vision of day 1 Broken tier debut is complete … finally my plan is coming to fruitition … my Puppet … (Eyes glow red) …
As far as making a BJJ character is concerned, I think it’s more about giving it a bit of a flavour, because obviously nobody wants to spend the whole round just groping at each other on the floor.
A couple of random ideas:
1- When Laura lands a throw, she gets to input an extra command (say it’s a mix-up between punch or kick) and if the opponent doesn’t input the right counter, she’ll twist his arm or leg for some extra damage. If the opponent guesses right, no extra damage and he gets back on his feet quicker.
2- Just the same way Cody can throw sand, when Laura is knocked down she has a move where she can drag you down with her on her wake up. (At this point it would be a good place to implement random idea 1)
Laura looks really good, nice skin color and super attractive. Really want to see her reveal trailer next week or whenever they release it as BGS. Without a doubt she seems like the best new character revealed so far, not that is saying much considering necalli and rashid are really mediocre designs with bland movesets.
What about an OTG grab (like Jill in Marvel or King in Tekken) ? Jujitsu practionners like to fight on the ground and that would be original in a SF game.
Now I see a pattern: the latest newcomer is always the best one and the shit and the previous ones have stunk the whole time. Which of the hypothesis is correct?
They look good in still pictures or in motion but then the english VA opens his mouth and the written quotes are revealed (“In my stomach all warriors dissolve”).
Plain old hipsterism.
Gameplay reasons: after a careful analysis and educated guesses of frame data, boxes, metagame, and beta play, posters can safely reach the conclusion that they indeed suck.
