uhh, i think ur missing the point here bro… the whole reason they want cabs is NOT to have to play on console type sticks (portable sticks). DC mvc2 is just like the arcade, so it is like a supergun already. and pulling boards is a pain in the ass too.
I get what you’re saying, and you’re right, pulling the boards will be a pain in the ass. I was just thinking it would be a simple solution just to do it that way if people aren’t willing to play it on Dreamcast. The only problem I see with people playing it on Dreamcast from what I heard is the blue screen of death when hooking up a green goblin and a P360 style stick to the dreamcast. Whereas just using a straight supergun allievates that problem. But if the blue screen of death isn’t really an issue, then just go Dreamcast then.
Damn it Chris…next showdown, if you guys are planning on having it next year, im sure a couple of us bean*rs here in el paso can help you guys with stuff…but yeah mad props to all that helped and to all teh chrises out thurr heh…
Thank you. Thats the way it should have been from the start. Frankly, I was surprised it was two out of three.
Also, I would like to say that the pools should be made out differently. Like having all the top player’s names written on a little piece of paper and placed in different cans. Like one can for all the top out-of-town players and another for the top H-town players or something like that. I think this would truly make the pools random and there will be no “easy pool.” This way the people making the pool cannot give themselves an easy pool to guarantee their entry into the bracket. You know who I mean :arazz: !
I know what you mean. Shit! that will make the next Texas Showdown even better, a “FUCKING” totally random pool system. FTW!
Think about it Ranma. Hopefully it happens cuz then i’m gonna be :arazz: & :annoy: if it doesn’t.;p
You are right though dudley, but most people dont have laptops and the such so carrying around your own pc to a tournament is not really that safe, imo…not that i dont trust you guys, but you never know…lost an umbrella like that…
What do you mean by cost effective? And as far as easy, all you have to do is take a tower with MAME. How hard can that be? Hell, I would even lend my PC so long as there is someone there to keep an eye on it. Either that or when the tourneys for those games start I would keep an eye on it myself until it would finish. I could even capture the matches with my capture card!! !!
R u still going to try 2 run marvel on cab and does that mean that for gg now ur going to actually have 2 have that many copies of the game. Cause no one is really going 2 buy the game when they can just burn it.
This is a note for everybody involved and wishes to be involved with Texas Showdown next year. We are working towards making Texas Showdown 7 into a much larger and legit tournament/event. That means NO PIRATING, NO EMULATION, NO ILLEGAL MODIFICATIONS at next years tournament. Issues with machines, cabinets, and games are being discussed by Showdown staff. I will post some info as we go, but you won’t get anything real concrete til probably September.
