It depends on the wine and the beer. Name a beer or wine and I’ll see if I know a good recommendation or have some experience with it. It’s not as wanky as it sounds at first if you’re just a pasta or meat and three veg kind of person. If you’re drenching your pallet with a certain flavor (like something bitter), you probably want something acidic or sweet to balance it out. It just tastes nice man. The more crazy the sweetness or bitterness is the more you want your food to bring it back a notch. Like I had a great sweet and sour barramundi the other night and that goes well with a nice brown beer. It’s kind of salty though because of the fish, I wouldn’t do that with wine. Salt and caramel, biscuit notes? That’s just delicious.
Personally I couldn’t do it man.
So I had heard rumors that the reason why danish beer is so shit is that they’re keeping the good stuff to themselves while exporting the crappy stuff.
After last night, I can confirm that this is true. Even the Carlsberg and the Tuborg was drinkable.
Assholes. >=[
