Hey guy’s I’m having problems with Dudley, my friend is a really good Dudley player and I’m having trouble anti-airing his j.rh. The way hes angled is just frustrating
cr.mp ftw…
its very weird actually at some ranges the j.hk does hit you out of cr.mp ;_;
Same as Boxer, standing Fierce.
In my experience anyway. My Dudley matchup knowledge is not extensive.
Fei Long: I ran into this player. All he did was zone in using reg/ex chicken wings. then he would use option select between DP, throw, or another chicken wing.
how do you keep an annoying fei long player away? that’s basically all he did. chicken wing chicken wing chicken wing. it’s a pretty cheap move if you ask me. it has hella priority and it can just pop up out of wakeup and stuff. fei long is really a bother for chun li
You can just beat him during chicken wing with jab and st.hp. It’s prety easy
Sooo, Seth.
A couple of players have stepped up their Seth game around here recently, either because of the buffs, or I think more form copy-pasta-ing Poonko’s stuff. I’m just going to write some stuff down in the hopes I remember it next time I play them, or somebody corrects me, because it’s essentially a new matchup to me.
1)If they get a good life lead, and it’s reset to nuetral, you’re pretty much dead, it’s very difficult to get momentum started from nuetral on your own initiative, so don’t let this happen.
2)air to air. grounded anti-airs don’t really work against the dive kick. Diagonal j.mk was working quite well for me, if they start mixing up normal jumpins with the dive kick, it could start getting scary, but you shouldn’t be throwing out things they can jump over anyway.
- unlike what I remember from Vanilla, if he throws a fireball full screen, you need to jump it, nuetral or otherwise. Doing pretty much anything else (U1 punish excepted) tends to lead at best to a blocked walljump, or often a full combo.
4)full cr.hp legs punishes on uppercuts, none of this cr.lk B&B crap.
-
learn to block the quick divekick on wakeup, as apparently I currently cannot.
-
I need to start getting dash Ultra consistently.
7)Watch when he does tandem engine and then beat it with hasan shu. On wakeup, it probably needs to be EX.
8)Don’t get nervous if he gets a perfect, it happens.
I’ve had quite a few matches vs my friend’s Seths. Not sure about my win rate, but I can go over my YT vids again and post with findings.
“4)full cr.hp legs punishes on uppercuts, none of this cr.lk B&B crap.”
Why is that? To make the most of his lol hp?
Pretty much, yeah, but also just becuase it’s so difficult to force damage out of him, you need take any punish chances he gives you with both arms.
That’s not an OS. It’s a mixup.
Someone needs a brief lesson on the functions of OS, lol. Yes, that’s a mixup.
If Fei Long REALLY had a DP/Throw/Chicken Wing option select he truly would be the most broken character in the game.
Also regarding Seth, his f.st.HP can still be punished with Ultra 1 unless you’re at the very very very tip of it, in which case he can block in time. Unfortunately Seth’s defense is very good if you’re playing against a strong Seth player, so it’s true that if he gets a life lead and nobody has momentum, it’s very difficult to turn it around if he doesn’t do something stupid.
Hey guys! This may sound really dumb but I had a quite a lot of matches with a hakan player online (hakan wasn’t even his main-- looking at the pp:bp ratio of the character), and only won twice… out of 12 or something.
I was very positive this was in Chun’s favor – which everyone will agree with right?
During the matches, I tried to punish hakan when he’s oiling with chun’s U1 (when available) but was not able to always due to my poor dash ultra execution.
But that wasn’t the problem.
Hakan’s normals were beating my footsie game. Also, his grab and ex grab are sooooooo annoying since he moves forward when he does it!! I wasn’t able to do much jab/st.mp mixups on block because of this. Should you zone in this match up? at least 45% of my fireballs were ex.slide, ducked under on reaction so I stopped using it.
I was also being killed during wake up because there’s a lot of mix up hakan can do. OS slide, ex.grab, air grab, cross up/fake cross up j.hk etc.
One thing that really caught me off guard was his FA and FADC attacks to bnb jabs to slide. He was freaking focusing / fadc-ing slide me all day even on block and I couldn’t even backdash (i’m guessing through frame advantage) and hakan’s just going to jab jab jab or jab grab, jab j.mp slide grrrrrrr. I was really unhappy with my performance. I won’t even talk about hakans f+ normals, to u1, or u2 that sneakily catch me -.-.
Anyway, How do you deal with Hakan in terms of what normals to use (just in case I run to this guy again someday)? I think he’s scary when up close more than far away so I tried to use a lot of st.hk but it wasn’t working right… somehow (i was being random slide out of it and even losing to normals).
Cheers and have a good day.
ps. isn’t it hard to do hakan’s jab bnb? or maybe it was just in ssf4? this person was doing it 85% of the time and I asked him if he was plnking somehow or something but he didn’t knwo what it was.
c.hp x legs changes everything about the Blanka matchup
Can you write more detailed about this please?
Cr. mp or cr. mk also work well to evade chicken wing if you have eagle-eye reactions. This makes chicken wing pass over Chun, allowing her to get a free counter/combo opportunity.
Blanka needs to block all 8 hits of c.hp x legs no matter what, that’s a lot of chip damage.
Say you c.lp him out of ball on reaction, you are now forcing him to eat c.hp x legs on block so instead of 30 dmg you get 60-70dmg and pressure.
When Blanka ends up in the corner he has no reliable way of escaping Chun (u+hp/hk on reaction to rainbow ball), so he’s forced to press buttons to get out, and if he doesn’t press anything then Chun is free to chip him down with c.hp x legs and build that super meter.
With the super meter being available more easily due to c.hp x legs meter building, Chun can also shut down Blanka’s pokes since any poke worth mentinoning can be punished on block with super. Also Chun’s pokes just straight out beat Blanka’s, and he can’t use mp or hp balla since on block Chun has a free dash, c.hk to punish it ALWAYS.
great info, blanka is a bogey character for me, but im going to practice all this against his balls now (that sounds weird)
Getting there is the problem for me, Skatan. =P
Against good (read: gimmicky) Blankas I always have trouble. This is partially because I refuse to guess when blocking (also why I’m ass at Marvel), but locking the Blanka down is the problem for me.
Corner FA crumple, dash 3 times, c.lk reset -> quick dash (crossover side)/slight delay dash (front side) mixup is so fucking godlike.
That is all!
Show me this please!
