Bayonetta demands Dante (DMC) to make her a sandwich. Patch fix available for PS3!

too bad DMC4 was more hype than it gave out though.

Disagree but it’s probably not worth getting into until I beat Bayonetta. I’m out before “I beat the game and I don’t know how to use a spoiler tag” shows up. :rofl: I’ll post my thoughts whenever I finish.

game isnt as good as i thought it’d be. DMC still owns this… i feel like Bayonetta tries to outdo DMC and be so over the top and it just becomes cheesy, DMC comes off as cool through and through. i also hate how you have to fight some of the bosses in here… DMC’s style of free roam own the boss however you want is much better. havent finished the game yet but i feel DMC4 is more fun and has more style.

and boy, this game is fucking annoying on PS3, why did they not make an install option? the game loads for EVERYTHING, even to pause, and the load times are long. i hope they release a patch or something because screen tearing during cutscenes and the long load times are ridiculous… Sega fucked up this port so badly it isnt even funny, the game is extremely unenjoyable to play on PS3.

So I had the option of getting the 360 or PS3 version of this game. I picked up the PS3 version for:

  1. When I buy a NEW game, I like them sealed.
  2. I like the PS3 controller for this game.

While it does load like a mother, I went into the deal FULLY knowing this. So im not shocked, put off, or discouarged. And Im quite enjoying it(fun to do stuff while it loads, like ordering a pizza). The VA’ing is class. The action is amazing. THIS is style, NERO…take notes BOY!

The save system was obviously designed with 360 in mind. Save slots? On PS3? Seriously?! That’s some anachronistic shit right there.

I guess that’s why they copy protect it, too, since I’ve seen something similar with one of our games. Except we changed our save flow to work for PS3, and SEGA obviously didn’t. :tdown:

Tips or suggestions for us when we take on that difficulty level?

that’s why you don’t go buying games from Gamestop. They’re technically “new” but they gut them open so they can put the case on display.

Isn’t that only if you buy the last copy? It’s been over two years since I bought a new game from Gamestop that was opened.

Actually, despite internet venom and storytime, Gamestop has been reliable and easy to deal with on a variety of things.

No wonder Platinum didn’t want to take responsibility for the game. The issues seem to be the cause of nubish game development…

Your chains are no longer safe cause enemies will interrupt them most of the time, so keep a finger on the dodge button. Buy an accessory called** Evil Harvest Rosary**, it’s 10,000 halos. You cannot use witch time in Non Stop Infinite Climax so this item creates a purple explosion when you dodge. It kind of gives you a reward for dodging again, damages enemies and gives you breathing room. The enemies are just as fast as you even when you run in panther mode so baiting attacks is key so you can counter. I like to run away from an enemy then stop for a second to bait a move. I either dodge and attack or bait and attack right away depending on the enemy. If you fighting a group of enemies always take out the most difficult enemy first, this seems obvious but it helps a lot. Try to finish all the bonus stages so you get all the heart and moon pieces. You will need quite a bit of health and magic for this mode.

If you are still having problems try and equip the Butterfly Accessory as your secondary. It absorbs hits for you as long as your magic gauge is filled. If you keep doing combos and dodging you can keep the magic gauge going even though it’s draining because dodging and attacking builds your gauge as well. I forgot the name of the parry accessory but it is a great tool as well. If everything else fails and you feel you want to scrub the game out then…

Kilgore Exploit

[details=Spoiler]

Weapon 1st set - Hands: Any weapon.
- Legs: Durga.
Weapon 2nd Set - Hands: Any weapon but NOT Durga.
- Legs: Lt. Col. Kilgore.

Second, ready your 1st set and then perform either one of these combo:

Type A: P -> P -> P -> P -> K
Type B: P -> P -> P -> Delay -> K

When the rapid kicks come out or are about to, switch to your second weapon set and start mashing. A bunch of missiles come out and do crazy damage and raise your multiplier to 9.9 after 3 consecutive combos. It’s an exploit in the game I don’t recommend using it until you know how to beat the game without it but it’s your choice.[/details]

Non Stop Infinite Climax takes everything you’ve learned about the game and throws it away. You have to almost rethink many situations, especially rethinking offensive strategies.

all I can say after playing bayonetta, that Gow3 better be on same pay my taxes,change my life good or im going to be dissapointed.

Usually it’s when it’s the last game. But i’ve seen people say they get copies they just gutted in their face when there’s a brand new copy behind them. Been like that for awhile. It’s only recent it’s been a big issue as a lot of people complained about it last year. Most game news sites (Kotaku…Destructoid…I think 1UP also…) were talking about it and IIRC went pretty far up in the big heads.

I only got to Gamestop if all else is out of the picture…or to scout out rare used games.

Thanks man. I’ll keep all this in mind when I get to playing on that difficulty.

Currently this is how I feel. However I will go beat the game before saying too much.

I do agree with Kobayashi of DMC4’s line of thinking when it comes to button prompts. They are dumb IMHO. I REALLY hope DMC5 doesn’t try to copy Bayonetta and includes button prompts. You know how I know when to push certain buttons? When it looks cool or if I don’t push them I will die. Exactly as I have been doing since Donkey Kong added a jump button. Geez… Well this is still a minor Bayonetta complaint.

Despite my PS3 woes I think it’s worth playing and getting if you have a PS3. Great game. Just wish Sega/Platinum or whoever was responsible stepped up to the plate is all. Ah well maybe next time.

Boy I really need to stay out of this thread until I beat the game. Old ass man who can’t put in 10-15 hours of gaming in one week. Just know someone’s going to ruin the ending for me. :wasted:

LOL I stayed away from the DMC4 Thread for 2 months until I finished it. :rofl: Ah well, at least I try to finish games in the Action Genre as fast as I can. Everything else is “Play the first 2 hours of the game and hurry up and finish it whenever they announce a sequel” treatment. :looney:

I still think DMC is better, but one thing where I think Bayonetta clearly smokes DMC is music. DMC’s music is no slouch, but I love the poppy, jazzy tracks and remixes in this game (I also hate custom BGM because I feel like it makes me not experience the game as it was intended, even if the music blows). Everything else so far, though, I prefer DMC.

How far are you?

I’m not that far at all, so my opinion can still change. So far, though, I’m not digging the QTEs and stuff.

Really, I think it’s hard to compare DMC and Bayonetta at all, since they use completely different combo systems. Bayonetta’s is more like a hybrid of DMC’s and GoW’s, so all three of them feel different to me.

I’m also not used to using R2 to dodge?especially just coming off GoW Collection, where I was using the right stick all day.

EDIT: Oh, and I think Dante has better characterization than Bayonetta. And I hate Enzo, but I think I’m supposed to.

Yeah I don’t think Enzo is meant to be likeable…He’s like Danny Davito or Joe Pesci…you’re supposed toh ate him. I love Bayonetta though.

I know hwo you feel about the R2 button cause I had just gotten done with doing the hard mode on Heavenly Sword again (Was killin time) and it took me a little bit for me to remember to stop flicking the right stick on reflex.

I don’t mind the screen prompts for moves like the torture attacks but some of the ones needed to advance have pissed me off. Like the one you need to hit when Fortitudo blasts a fireball at you the second time you fight him. That one killed me like 5 times cause the timing window for hitting the button is small. Much smaller then any other QTE based game I’ve played which kind of pissed me off. It’s a massive punishment to my chapter score for one little slip up. Wasn’t very happy about that. Died in a few other locations that was just like total bullshit. Still the last time I had this much fun fighting stuff in an action game was NGB or DMC1. I love how aggressive a lot of the foes are like Grace and Glory and such. A lot of what I can’t stand i the modern DMC games is how…idle the fights feel. Like the enemies just aren’t out for blood like they should be and here they really are trying to kill you and that makes me really happy and really gets me exploring different weapon set ups, combos and really working with the dodge system. I think the weapon set up system is something that really shines in this game but you don’t get to really use it until your sitting on a decent cache of weapons which kind of takes a while.

I’m just liking this a great deal more then i did DMC3, 4 or NGII.

Anyway I was just curious as to how far into the game you where yet.

I personally never liked the QTE type stuff outside of Shenmue. That’s the only game it seems warrant. I blame GoW for making QTEs in Action/Adventure games big. DMC4 with Nero was way too easy because of it. Bayonetta doesn’t really need it (the boss ones I can allow. but that’s just cause of how it’s done.). I just hate those cut scene squences where you’re forced to do QTEs and if you guess wrong, i’m being penalized a death for it. That’ll easily fuck up a possible platinum score.

though I do agree with Radient on the monsters. Even if you’re locked onto say Grace, Glory’s going to continue attacking. He’s not going to back up because you’ve locked onto an enemy. The exact same reason why I feel DMC1 was crazy good still compared to DMC3. No use putting like 8 enemies on the stage when they only attack when the others aren’t.

Thing about GoW’s QTE events is that they give you plenty of time to react to the prompt and hit the right button(s), though I’m not sure I like GoWIII (demo) moving them to the edges of the screen. That’s the one thing it seems no one else is taking into account. I think I generally have good reflexes compared to most other people, but I still can’t hit some of the prompts immediately in Bayonetta or Dante’s Inferno (demo). In the latter, I can’t even see them half the time. That’s really more like punishing the player than it is actually adding to the game.

the first QTE against the flying dragon head caught me way off guard and died, i was like, wtf?? instagib for failing is not cool
