I beat the game, and I was quite impressed. I generally do not like these kind of games, but this was a unique coincidence. I really enjoyed the torture kills, especially the one with the female angels, and the boss fights were great.
This was one of those games were you cant give up, you must always be top notch, the game never stops, there are guys coming from every where, the ceiling, the floor, the elevators, your ass, every where! You just keep playing, you keep trying to beat the boss or beat the tough enemies in some kind of sick, twisted endurance run, you keep mashing until your tired, you cant quit because you think that if you quit you will lose your skill, but then you start getting so frustrated that you actually start losing skill that you worked hard to get, so then you just calm down, and when you finally win that endurance run, sweet joy overwhelms you as you triumph your victory and stand tall atop the gaming world!
When you have that set up and you pull off the kilgore glitch, she also does a nice ass combo afterwords with the durga hands. I kept doing that shit to day.

Million: The way you play is so cute. The fact that you are that far into hard mode and you have now just started messing with Durga and Kuldesh (the whip)? That’s cute. I was fucking with those before I finished Normal. I guess you’ll have fun with Odette (skates) and Kilgore (glitch bazooka tongfas) during Infinite Climax.
haha, I just got Odette/skates yesterday as well. Some of those portals and witch-tombs are so out of the way… I probably would never have found certain ones if it weren’t for gamefaqs. (*one of those faqs leaves out certain details though, which was highly annoying.)
I’m up to chapter 8 or 9 in Hard now, so I got that 2nd “New Testament” achievement. It’s easy to just “make it” through the harder difficulties thanks to those items and item-concoction.(*or not… sometimes it provides that extra thrill of suspense when you’re fighting something like Gracious and Glorious knowing full well the next hit will end your life! haha, it’s awsome.) Of course, getting good ranks/medals is something else. Fortunately there’s no actual game-reward for getting platinum on higher difficulties, so I most likely won’t even try. Getting all platinum on Normal (to unlock my honey Jeanne) already seems hard enough as it is. I’ve only managed 2 overall platinums (and some awards brought up to gold level) so far though…that will be a long road there.
I still can’t get over how my friend instantly gave up and moved on to other games already. That’s not only pathetic, it’s also a waste of money. If he was only destined to experience about 4% of what this great game has to offer, he could’ve just rented the damn thing. Sheeit, even folks that rent would’ve made it further than he did. That’s just sad.
I just got the skates yesterday and just put them on. They make me laugh. Skates and Sword are what I’m going to use for the rest of the game.
Just going to blast through the rest of it. Don’t really feel like farming for all the items and costumes and what not. Kinda sad that the game is aimed for multiple playthroughs, well not sad, that is actually pretty neat. That’s just not my bag.
It only took me like an hour to farm enough halos to unlock all the unlockables via the telephone cheat codes, and most of that was because I didn’t realize how important it is to use witch time to keep the chapter 2 boss from dying too quickly.
Basically I just mashed P with durga vs the chapter 7 boss a few times to get 3 million halos, then unlocked the bracelet of time and spammed the kilgore glitch on the chapter 2 boss and I was done. I could do it one more time to snag the Platinum ticket boss’s weapon but I actually want to beat him myself. I keep getting him down to like 3 hits and then he does this really fast grab and I can’t seem to get the dodge timing right.
Honestly I don’t even want to call it farming, I generally associate farming with a lengthy and tedious process but in this game it’s a breeze.
lol, it’s gotten to the point where I am just tired of the loading and the stupid story so I’m just skipping every cutscene and going through the game as fast as possible. I just want to get this over with. It’s extra punishment when you die because you get another 40 seconds of loading. I’m using items and everything now. Fuck it.
I thought NSIC mode was going to be more challenging than it is, especially on the dual style fights with Jeanne and Father WhatHisFace.
Nope.
Summary: (Parry, Dash Hit) x N
I’ve got two heart pieces to find and two stone pieces to find. I’m not sure why they’re so elusive. Also, hardest trophy for whatever reason?..finding all the final resting places. How did I miss so many the first time through?
This game has too many abusable things to be “legitimately” difficult. Halo farming, massively upgradable health, accessories (parry/rosary/bracelet of time), and the general open-ended nature of New Game+ all make it harder to tell if you’re getting the intended challenge, but just starting fresh new games gets in the way of unlocking the various secret weapons/accessories/costumes/characters.
I think I’m going to stop looking for witch hearts to keep things interesting (just barely started on the second health bar) and once I beat infinite climax I’ll start doing single-weapon/kit runs and other random personal challenges, maybe platinum medals but I’m really not very interested in it.
IMO things would be better overall if the unlockable weapons and stuff were linked to your profile data rather than a particular save, that way you could have fresh games, chapter/verse select, and new game+ modes where you keep your weapons but health/magic is reset (similar to Ninja Gaiden II). The game is still good as it is, but if there’s a sequel (or other similar game) I think that would be ideal.
ah yes…look at the beautiful work going on here: This player managed to make interesting use of those skull “bombs” from Fire Durga…like setting one, taunting, then using the whip to pull an enemy over into the bomb’s explosion! Too awesome…in another one, they set a bomb, ran around in Panther form then booted his ass over to that bomb…beautiful.
I’m going to love seeing the combo vids for this game.
another one… Gorgeous.
oh shit i just realized you can get 2 lifebars worth of health. i’m on RTE 666 on hard and i’m still trucking along with my 1 life bar. i thought i was actually close to filling the thing up…i guess you get a lot of hearts from the challenges or i must have missed a bunch of them. with 2 lifebars IC mode should be cake
Got the prologue, lvl1, and lvl2 so far. Takes lots of practice runs to figure out where the alfheims and shit are. Gonna take a break to do the findable umbran tears and witch tombs. Glad I was smart enough to get all alfheims, hearts, and orbs on my first playthrough. Makes some of these enemies a breeze, even with GoD on.
I wasn’t missing any of the moon stones, so that was cool, but I was missing two heart pieces. I couldn’t find them for anything. I knew Route666 had two pieces on the side paths, but seeing as how when I went back to beat it on easy it gave me gold bullets at those collection points, I figured I already had them.
Nope, you have to collect them on normal or higher to get them to appear. I just grabbed them to max out my life bars while finishing up NSIC mode.
heh, I forgot all about the hearts in the shop! I’ve bought several tonight, so I’m already building that 2nd life bar. Unlike the ones found in the levels…this is a whole heart we’re talking about, so your health is immediately extended with each purchase…and of course, 30,000 halos is rather easy to come by.
*I may have gotten the hang of fighting Gracious and Glorious. I had a FLAWLESS battle with them earlier…oooh I wish I had it recorded… I blocked every damn hit and lit their asses up with the sword combos. This was chapter 9 or so when you fight 2 of them in that little corner at the bottom of some stairs…and it was on Hard difficulty! I couldn’t believe it, man…the results screen came up: “NO DAMAGE.” :wow: I had to just pause for a second to fully absorb and appreciate the awesomeness that just occurred. That Moon accessory is crucial. I still haven’t switched it out since buying it a long time ago. It’s incredibly helpful for me during the Jeanne fights as well.
*Also, I think a forward block worked every time on those guys… I would’ve assumed that their overhead hit might have needed an “up” or “diagonally up” motion to block, or low for their ground-to-air slash… but the simple forward motion seemed to work every time, if I recall. (*I bring this up because wasn’t it a rule that you have to block where the hit is coming from?)
Hard difficulty… just beat Sapienta, which is a pretty easy boss compared to the others, imo. I doubt it would be that difficult to kill him without ever getting hit…everything that guy does is so easily dodged.
