Starbuck wants so badly to believe her own shit, that i’m pretty sure if the hybrid told her she’d be humanity’s savior or something like that, she’d have taken & run with it by now telling others.
Because the hybrid didn’t tell her what she wanted to hear, she is just picking & choosing like a selfish bitch. Also if the hybrid was right about everything else(opera house, dieing leader, etc) then how can one see the “harbinger of death” line being in so much doubt?
My only question is who exactly, will she be leading to their doom? The humans or the cylons?
When did Starbuck become a petty, glory seeking bitch??
It took her three seasons for her to believe the prophecy that she was some special savior to the fleet.
When Admiral Cain made her CAG, she knew she needed help and she asked Lee for that help.
She admitted to Adama that she felt responsible for his son’s death and asked him for his forgiveness.
She is a cocky bitch but she’s also humble. Ya’ll are starting to sound like blind haters.
That doesn’t even make sense. She only told Rosilin about the prophecy because she matched the whole “dying leader” piece of it. The Hybrid is still the enemy and the Colonials are not going to take kindly to anything the Cylons say-- no matter if its good or bad news. You really think Starbuck would go around shouting good or bad prophecies that came from the mouth of the enemy?
No, what you’re saying doesn’t make sense. Say the reason Starbuck believed the part she said to Rosilin because Rosilin fits the bill of a dying leader, as you said. Well, why would she disregard what the hybrid said about her, when the hybrid used her exact name, “Kara Thrace” ? If she didn’t believe the part about her being a harbinger of death because she doesn’t trust Cylons, she wouldn’t have trusted any of the rest of it, unless shes selfish/foolish.
I think you misunderstood me. The reason Starbuck would not go around shouting good or bad prophecies from the mouth of a Cylon is not because she didn’t believe the Hybrid (she does believe her), its because everyone hates Cylons and would treat her badly for spreading information that came from a Cylon. I’m sure Starbuck believes the hybrid but she’s already been accused of being a Cylon. Its not going to help her regain anyone’s trust if she says she believes the Hybrid. It only worked with Rosilin because the prophecy closely matched what was happening with the president.
timestamp for the scene I was talking about with Kara begins in 1:11:39 in Part 1 of the mini-series.
heres the screenshot. youll see that the raider is being chased down, then it turns around, zooms in on the raider “head” the camera shows it scanning back and forth, then goes to where kara is wondering wtf is going on, and decides that the raider’s weapons mustve malfunctioned, camera switches to her weapons display showing her missles are ready to fire, and she destroys it.
my speculation is that, she is the fifth cylon, OR, the raider identified her has a key-component in whats supposed to happen down the line, maybe id’ed her as “harbinger of death”, decided that she has to live and broke off the attack.
edit:
interesting. Adama picks up a folded note that says There are 12 models of Cylons. They haven’t really expanded on that note, the only reference I can think of is when Leoben says “Adama is a cylon” In any case, RDM said that for certain, Roslin and Adama are not the final cylons as it would detract too much from the show.
I know I’ve switched suspects like 3 times lol but this one, along with other weird happenings in S3-4 and finally with seeing the mini-series incident from a different pov, really put Kara over. On the side of Gaeta though, people have come up with more theories on why Gaeta is the 5th Cylon. Theyre saying that he allegedly “activated” Boomer when he went to congratulate her on the episode “Kobol’s Last Gleaming part 2” which is the episode where Boomer shot Adama. He also supposedly allow the virus to take over, which in effect, gave Sharon the chance to prove herself (shows that he was helping a fellow cylon, knowingly or unknowingly)
yeah, that’s an interesting theory (i like it); but don’t forget the Cylon raiders had that “Viper Shutdown” program they were using at the start to rape the Colonies’ defenses, and it could have been trying to do it on Starbuck. cool thing about your theory though is that she shot the raider before it had a chance to do anything, so it could go either way.
as I said at Sci-Fi, the Viper Shutdown process is instant, as soon as it gets within range. Also I said that they specifically went out of their way to show this to us, as opposed to hundreds of other fighters already engaged in combat (this specific one was about to blow Apollo out of the sky)
This show will be milked for as long as possible. It probably pulls in many times more viewers than the second rated show on sci fi, and imo, is the only good show besides X Files reruns.
Sine Qua Non was a pretty good episode. It didn’t necessarily answer any existing questions, only raise new ones.
to an extent. BSG is ending this season and Caprica is taking its place, but since its a prequel, and we know what happens in BSG, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for them to continue milking BSG in the form of Earth and what happens there. That already has happened in the past and failed miserably.
why couldnt they just do sumtin set in the future where they found earth…but not let it be cheesy like the bsg original show where they found earth lol. hover cars n shit ahaha.
The subject of BSG came up with some friends recently, and according to them if i saw the original, then i’m supposed to hate this new show. I don’t get it.
(Kinda like the way Batman fans say if you had read all the comics prior to the 89’movie, then you’d have hated Nicholson’s joker. I still think thats absurd)
lies…i watched 90% of the old show before this one. it was soo kid friendly i got a cavatey. i loved the old one and the new one for totally diff reasons.
